Shechita ritual and halal
\nAnd organic too
\nSees lots of gratuitous violence
\nIt just seems to break through
\nA place where animals are killed
\nApparently one finds
\nNo compassion and no empathy
\nIts where they cross the lines<\/p>\n
Sheep are caring animals
\nAnd they must know that they
\nAre entering a house of death
\nThey feel it in every way
\nFor being then subjected
\nTo rough handling and pain
\nTo being kicked and sworn at
\nWhat have they to gain<\/p>\n
From mistreating dying animals
\nMaking noises they
\nAre frightening the animals
\nReally making them pay
\nAnd punching them and kicking them
\nIts arrant and its wrong
\nThey just don’t have respect at all
\nThey just do not belong<\/p>\n
In a place amongst the animals
\nTheir off handed and cavalier
\nAnd when they supposedly cut their throats
\nThey do it from ear to ear
\nBut there is no religious tone
\nNo cleansing of a blade
\nAnd its clear their heads are hacked at
\nThis is not a trade<\/p>\n
Its a place for no good murderers
\nIts a place where just to be
\nShocks the life out of anyone
\nThe Trauma one can see
\nIts not that I am anti muslim
\nOr anti jewish, they
\nAre treating dying animal
\nIn a disrespectful way<\/p>\n
And I find this, objectionable
\nNo pre stunning here
\nObserving the muslim and shechita rules
\nBut to me that isn’t clear
\nEither there’s no ritual
\nJust very badly they
\nAre manhandled and all sworn at
\nAnd really made to pay<\/p>\n
This cannot be ritual
\nAnd the soil association
\nIs falling down on inspections
\nIts more a glorification
\nOf being really ugly and cruel
\nTo sheep and I would rather
\nBe
\na vegan
\nThan ever watch souls die
\nSo egregiously<\/p>\n
Most Carnivores eat their flesh and bones
\nAnd just because of me
\nAnimals should be carted off
\nAnd murdered insensitively
\nFor that is what is happening
\nIts a bitter pill to take
\nThank goodness I went vegan
\nYears ago for my own sake<\/p>\n
Consumers have to reckon
\nHave to think about the cause
\nOf why the workers treat the animals
\nBadly and won’t pause
\nIs it a lack of true respect
\nOr the dumbing down of men
\nIn abattoirs i think it maybe
\nThat and I count to ten<\/p>\n
