A Life is a life
\nand a knife is a knife
\nAnd an animals throat
\nis her own
\nOpen your eyes
\nand please realise
\nThat steak, you
\njust might have known<\/p>\n
You might have stroked
\nthat darling cow once
\nOr drank from its udder
\nWho knows?
\nAnd now its a’ hanging
\nup there on that chain
\nWith blood spurting out
\nof its nose<\/p>\n
A Life is a life
\nAnd a steak is a steak
\nBut really what stake
\nDid the cow
\nHave in the, well, the
\nequation, nothing at all
\nwhich was how<\/p>\n
It existed for 4 years not 15
\nRaped by some farm hand each year
\nIt gave up its babies
\nDespite its torment
\nOh! yes that abundantly clear
\nIt was milked half
\nto death
\nAnd made lame
\nTill each breath
\nwas a torturous struggle
\nto make
\nA Life is a life
\nand strife is such strife
\nWhen the pain
\nbecame too hard to take<\/p>\n
But not in the world
\nwhere the vegans
\nRespect living creatures
\nwith soul
\nEvery animal now on this planet
\nIs given to complete control
\nEach has a life
\nEach manages breath
\nAnd only, Mother Nature
\ndecides on its death<\/p>\n
Not the Farmer who
\nNeeds to pay off his loan
\nNor the Corporate Clown
\nWho hastens to own
\nEvery farm in the district
\nNor the slaughterhouse staff
\nWho descend into mayhem
\nand kill with a laugh
\nWe won’t see shelves
\nof dead flesh any more
\nor chemical added to what
\nwas pure gore
\nThrust in a pigs stomach
\nand fried in a pan
\nThere will be fewer animals
\nThat is our plan<\/p>\n
More food for the humans
\nMuch more water too
\nPollution reduced
\nThe rainforest view
\nLess likely to be
\nCrushed and carted away
\nand replaced by the soya bean
\nEvery day
\nA friendlier affable society
\nwhere a life is a life
