\nWe are all thrown about

A great leap of faith

\nThe very idea that Vietnam
\nSoon should be
\nThe place of my death
\nWas abhorrent to me<\/p>\n
But then I was caught and sent back
\nOMG how I suffered
\nA lot of flack
\nI was Bruised and was buffeted
\nNow back on the ship
\nBound for Vietnam
\nAnd one hell of a trip<\/p>\n
3 weeks on this tug
\nIn this terrible hell
\nThe heat and the fear
\nAnd this shit awful smell
\nThe stormy sea crossing
\nThe rocking we feel
\nThe sickness the horror
\nIt is all so real<\/p>\n
vietnam dawns on us when we arrive
\nDischarged in our hundreds
\nThose that did survive
\nMany lay dead or dying for they
\nGave up the ghost and just faded away<\/p>\n
I was of good spirit
\nBut I rapidly knew
\nThat I came here to die here
\nThe slaughterhouse grew
\nClose we could smell it
\nWe could feel it, we knew
\nSoon it would be over
\nBut there was nothing we could do<\/p>\n
Forced through the gates
\nAnd into our face
\nWhere huge great blue bottles
\nWe all over the place
\nGreat shaggy rats
\nThe size of a dog
\nThis was our death house
\nA detestable bog
\nLots of short men with knives and great power
\nDispatching so many of us every hour<\/p>\n
Australia stinks
\nThere is no empathy there
\nJust a bunch of convicts
\nWho reek of despair
\nThey are cruel
\nThey are crude
\nThey are frighteningly so
\nLive exports from there
