\nAnd the tanks
\nLong queues in banks
\nA bright orange sky
\nDestruction
\nWe die<\/p>\n
As they take lives away
\nWith their fire and their war
\nAnd the rockets galore
\nIt’s ominous shit
\nNow where I sit
\nA frightened old lady
\nDemonstrates, it
\nIs tragedy happening
\nBefore our eyes
\nUkraine feel the rain
\nAnd do realise<\/p>\n
My poems are life
\nAs it is written down
\nPeople run scared
\nOut of their town
\nBabies in hospital
\nBleeding they say
\nShrapnel is flying
\nThe other way<\/p>\n
Children in fear
\nMothers yes too
\nWe are in the bunkers
\nWithout a clue
\nAs to why peace has ended
\nAs to why we all try
\nAs to why war has ravaged
\nOur beautiful sky<\/p>\n
Where babies die
\nWhy rubble falls
\nWhy tangled bodies
\nWhy everyone cries
\nHuddled in cellars
\nDust in their eyes
\nDirt in their hair
\nListen to lies
\nIn the parliament they
\nFools everywhere
\nAnd that is okay
\nThat’s life at the moment
\nSo much despair
\nAs to Ukraine
\nI am glad I’m not there<\/p>\n
But soon it could be Britain
\nOr the USA
\nAnywhere really
\nNot much left to say
\nOur worlds falling apart
\nThe peace we all knew
\nIs crumbling tragically
\nWhat can we do?<\/p>\n
Look to our loved ones
\nAnd be alone
\nSay nothing to anyone
\nChuck out our phone
\nSit in the darkness
\nLet there be night
\nClose your eyes slowly
