\nBlood sports are in many thoughts
\nIt’s not what people do
\nIt’s negative, it’s cruelty exposing blood for fun
\nIt’s baseline enmity really
\nAnd it’s not what should be done<\/p>\n
To actually lower standards
\nTo appease the countryside
\nIs a futile foolish gamble
\nWhich is seen far and a wide
\nThe badger is historically
\nOne of the nocturnal knights
\nSome 40’000 live here
\nAnd should have all their rights<\/p>\n
Cattle introduced here
\nIn the CAFO farming style
\nAre noisy unnatural filthy sheds
\nThat truthfully defile
\nThe animals contained therein
\nAnd the countryside around
\nCompared to the friendly badger
\nBetter value pound for pound<\/p>\n
A very sensitive creature
\nAllied to the moon
\nBehaviourally aware of it
\nAnd very much in tune
\nThe new moon brings him energy
\nTo mate to fight to be
\nTo leave his scents around the place
\nMore often we can see<\/p>\n
His diet chiefly consists of
\nEarthworms off the ground
\nHe doesn’t like to pull them out
\nIt’s the earth perhaps he has found
\nNot so very tasty
\nWell anyway prefers
\nTo eat them cleaned of grime and loam
\nAnd that is what occurs<\/p>\n
He rarely drinks his water
\nComing straight out of the food
\nHe likes a bit of rabbit
\nOn their lean legs oft chewed
\nAnd a wealth of other crawly things
\nSeems to attract his stare
\nAnd he likes the odd mushroom
\nTo compliment his fare<\/p>\n
As to the British Government
\nFalling for the joke
\nOf badgers causing TB
\nThe farmers they did soak
\nThe public with this futile crap
\nAnd saw the badgers shot
\nGassed and just run over
\nFor their place here it’s not<\/p>\n
The farmers and their poaching friends
\nApparently they so
\nLike killing all the animals
\nIt makes their dreams come true
\nThey have no bloody idea
\nAnd do not wish to share
\nThe land that they were born on
\nEvery bloody where<\/p>\n
It’s shared with bird and wild one
\nThey give this country charm
\nNot the bother boys and the terrier men
\nAnd hunting in the palm
\nOf so called bloody huntsmen
\nTory voting chums
\nWho ride their horses on other people’s land
\nWith their sore bums
\nTheir countenance is objectionable
\nSo you either have to be happy when they destroy your land
\nOr harm others actually<\/p>\n
Blood sports are antiquated
\nPassed their sell by date
\nThe Tories are a bunch of twerps
\nLeaning on the gate
\nHoping that the countryside
\nComes up with votes so they
\nCan cut our fucking child benefit
\nAnd then be on their way<\/p>\n
Friendly with the corporates
\nThe bankers and the rest
\nWho keep their workers on
\nTheir hourly contracts
\nJust to test
\nTheir abilities to live without
\nSome help from governments who
\nShould think about the children
\nWho may vote for them too<\/p>\n
Blood sports are the anathemA
\nThey are evil through and through
\nTaking foxes and badgers and hare out
\nJust will not do
\nGoing around with shot guns
\nKilling deers and rabbits they
\nAre a bunch of loonies
\nWho really should now pay<\/p>\n
A price which is that blood sports
\nAre banned for ever here
\nTell the queen and her family
\nThey do not bring us cheer
\nShooting birds and rabbits
\nKilling hen harriers
\nTo
\nprotect the quail and the shooting toffs
\nIs not what they should do<\/p>\n
Do not repeal the hunting act
\nLeave our countryside alone
\nLeave the badgers our beautiful tribe
\nFor the seeds that you have sown
\nAre causing people stress and grief
\nAnd the wild feral souls
\nNeed to be safe where they were born
