Production of our food and of our goods
\nNow costs the earth
\nWater is regarded as necessity
\nIt’s worth
\nTo every living creature
\nIt’s priceless to be sure
\nBut the wastage in production
\nWe just must not ignore<\/p>\n
Friends of The Earth have studied this
\nAnd it just blows your mind
\nTake a pair of leather boots
\nCattle wow they find
\nNeed 14 tonnes of water
\nAnd large amounts of land
\nAnd an extra 10 tonnes in the tanning of them
\nYes it’s hard to understand<\/p>\n
Fracking that’s another giant
\nOf wastage of this resource
\nIt’s an arrogance beyond the pale
\nAs a matter of course
\nMillions of gallons are wasted
\nPolluted for all time
\nJust to get some shale gas
\nIt truly is a crime<\/p>\n
In Africa they are thirsty
\nDying of thirst In fact
\nAnd we are party to wasting it
\nHow should we react
\nWake up and be counted
\nRealise the sin
\nOf man towards his family
\nAs Excuses are wearing thin<\/p>\n
The corporation moguls
\nWant bottled water sold
\nThey want to pinch the profit
\nAnd turn it into gold
\nMake us pay for water
\nMore so than we do now
\nAnd waste it and pollute it
\nAs if it’s their cash cow<\/p>\n
We have to be more sensible
\nUse the judgement that we hold
\nNot let these creeps destroy us
\nBe a little bold
\nBoycott Nestle who is leading the fight
\nTo make us pay
\nStand up for the earths miracles
\nOr lose them and then pay<\/p>\n
Think long and hard of others
\nOf your children who will be
\nThirstier than some of you
\nTry somehow to see
\nThere is water it is on this earth
\nBut wasting it is wrong
\nUsurping it for profit
\nIt just does not belong<\/p>\n
On this earth and at this time
\nWe have to protect the source
\nWe have to contain our arrogance
\nAnd not let them try to force
\nUs into accepting something
\nWhich is madness if we think
\nWater we need water we need
