Roll Rights was so peaceful
\nThe light was really clear
\nYou could see the whole of Chipping Norton
\nJust from standing here
\nlooking over the labyrinth vital and so green
\nObserving all those lovely fields and dales
\nThere in between<\/p>\n
The trees were making music to the wind that
\nPlucked the leaves
\nThe circle looked resplendent all the stones
\nIt just achieves
\nan optimism really
\nThe vitality that’s there
\nYou feel exhilarated
\nAnd you cast out all despair<\/p>\n
Some Friends were there already
\nSitting on the floor
\nIn the East some did feast
\nAnd I knew for sure
\nThe ritual would be special
\nThe Sun God dressed in gold
\nSported a mask and a cloak of red
\nAnd his trusty staff did hold<\/p>\n
Accompanied by the faery queen
\nIn a dress of snowy white
\nWith a crown of golden roses
\nOf herbs and pure sunlight
\nAnd hosts of others personages
\nAnd a very merry throng
\nAll waiting for the ritual
\nWith hearts packed full of song<\/p>\n
The arch druid was Veronica
\nShe just flows in what she does
\nShe has that earnest sparkle
\nAnd helps everything to buzz
\nThe sky was brushed with wisps of white
\nBut generally was blue
\nAnd the sun was up there peering down
\nWaiting to burst through<\/p>\n
Some 90 people joined us
\nAnd the Sun God joined in too
\nSeated in his throne of green
\nAs generally Sun God’s do
\nSeated around him 7 souls
\nWith burning incense
\nThey
\nComforted the sun god
\nWho stood up (just about)and he did say<\/p>\n
It was a triumphant message
\nOf geniality
\nAnd when he sat down
\nThe dancers came
\nWith distinct vivacity
\nThey threaded and they wistfully
\nConjured their display
\nAnd made us all feel happy
\nIn their very charming way<\/p>\n
The ritual then continued
\nOfferings were made
\nEveryone partook of mead
\nAnd cake
\nSo as to aid
\nTo give a spot of strengthening
\nBefore the talking stick
\nWhere everyone tells everyone
\nWho they are and that’s the trick
\nOr some can sing or recite something
\nAnd everyone takes part
\nBringing us all together
\nAnd giving the ritual, heart
\nBy now the sun was heating up
\nThe ritual underway
\nWe finished with the Ho ho ho
\nA breath holding display<\/p>\n
Holding hands the sunniness
\nThe party spirit flows
\nThe cheeriness the happiness
\nEverybody knows
\nIt leaves us in high spirits
\nAnd hilarity
\nFiling out of the portal
\nWe all said goodbye and we
\nGave blessings to the friends
\nWe had made and went home gracefully<\/p>\n
The stones were very magical
\nAnd the light was bright and clear
\nThe high breeze just made music
\nWith the tall trees around here
\nWith the wild flowers and the farmland
\nIt was wonderment and glee
\nA perfect place when “the sun stands still”
