\nIs wholly heartfelt based on true harmony
\nFrom the abundance of Nature thats gratefully sought
\nTo the exhilaration of abundant thought
\n“The feel of the day”
\nThe unburdening dismay
\nthat adrenaline rush
\nWhat is the, old boys crush<\/p>\n
And the gardener who
\nBelieves he is true
\nwhen he says how he feels
\nAnd just how it appeals<\/p>\n
Through the ego we see
\nWhere he comes from and we
\nHave to then understand
\nKeepers of the land<\/p>\n
The landowner who
\nNeeds funds to accrue
\nAnd extols his great might
\nSacrificing the light<\/p>\n
So the innocent souls
\nWho he fails to redress
\nAnd The members with shotguns
\nWho do Not care less<\/p>\n
death he controls
\nAnd his Gamekeepers too
\nHen harriers though
\nNo not what to do<\/p>\n
They are so troubled
\nthe financial bell
\nRings in the distance
\nAnd draws them to Hell<\/p>\n
One has heard of late
\nThose Who wait by the gate
\nwith their shot guns
\nto fire
\nfor the spurt and desire<\/p>\n
To compete in one sense
\nWith the wild birds who will
\nNever respect one who goes out to
\nKill<\/p>\n
Not for food but for joy
\nAnd a great rush of blood
\nThis gushing of sense
\nthis inevitable flood<\/p>\n
Of anguish for Harriers
\nHunting the Grouse
\nCompeting with arses
\nWith questionable nous<\/p>\n
Titchmarsh comes out
\nAnd creates a broad church
\nWhere the rich and the powerful
\nJoin him on his perch
\nThere is no way they could
\nEver besmirch,<\/p>\n
practical consequence
\nIt comes to bear
\nThe pragmatic effect
\nOf shooting,I swear<\/p>\n
Those shooters have no bloody idea at all
\nAnd Titchmarsh won’t knock them
\nThat’s him
\nthat’s his rule<\/p>\n
Of thumb, his decision
\nBut he has to see

The grouse bagging
\nHeart shagging

\nThe Harriers plight
\nAnd Of the imbalance caused

Hunting for sport
\nFor the power that exists
\nIn the soul of those men
\nWho show us their fists<\/p>\n
So as to enable
\nTheir hunting to be
\nAllowed to continue
\nFor expediency<\/p>\n
It’s not about fairness
\nWhatever that means
\nIt’s about their advantage
\nThey act like machines<\/p>\n
The much wider picture
\nThey all fail to hear
\nthe clamour of feathers
\nThat can never bring cheer<\/p>\n
It’s all about game
\nThe grouse is the one
\nWatching it lift off
\nAnd fly into the sun<\/p>\n
These simpleton hunters
\nExerting their power
\nJust one pull on the trigger
\nAnd the great feather shower<\/p>\n
That descends from the skies
\nThat feeling is there
\nAnd Titchmarsh holds onto it
\nAnd seems to share<\/p>\n
That rush of adrenaline
\nLike the kick of a mule
\nAnd possibly sees it
\nAs some kind of fuel<\/p>\n
That spirit that drives
\nCountrymen to desire
\nTo stand in the countryside
\nTo aim and to fire<\/p>\n
And watch the birds
\nFall with the flash of their soul
\nAnd to realise then
\nYou do have control<\/p>\n
It’s cost you a bit
\nBut the camaraderie

Flew into the sky

\nEnsured that they die<\/p>\n
And die they do
\nAnd the Hen Harriers too
\nWho are helped on their way
\nWith poison a clue<\/p>\n
A cloud seems to form
\nIn the gloom which has led
\nSome to recall what someone
\nOnce said<\/p>\n
Silence is golden
\nAnd maybe that’s true
