We each are born of our mothers
\nIn her fluids we perform
\nWe warm to her affection
\nIn the delicate world so warm
\nSo caring for her compassion
\nShe shares with us each hour
\nWe are her single prodigy
\nHer purposeful sweet flower<\/p>\n
Some go onto become an activist
\nWith sweet searching eyes
\nWith hearts as warm as they ever were
\nWe are never in Disguise
\nWe are open we are loving
\nAnd within us we need care
\nOthers walk a different path
\nTheir hearts they fail to share
\nThey rarely care for others
\nFor money grips their soul
\nThey are easily led stray
\nAnd, take on that role<\/p>\n
And so the other species
\nThe other earthling tribe
\nThat live beside us reckoning
\nThat the spirit we imbibe
\nThey have their own freedom
\nTo walk the paths and they
\nNeed to be protected too
\nAnd not be made to pay<\/p>\n
The pope that great high figure
\nRecently came to see
\nBosnia he came here left Rome
\nAnd certainly
\nWas entertained by government
\nAnd it had been agreed
\nThat stray dogs in our cities
\nThat worrisomely feed
\nOn what is tossed around the place
\nThey grope and hopefully
\nFind people who will help them
\nLive still happily<\/p>\n
But of course the pope was coming
\nAnd decisions thus were made
\nTo slaughter all these strays boys
\nEnd their sick parade
\nClear the streets of their ghostly forms
\nAnd show us in good light
\nEnter the wonderful activists
\nThe heroic and the bright
\nLights among us warm and caring
\nThoughtful to a tee
\nThey came out to tAke charge
\nTo rescue some and to be<\/p>\n
There for some but sadly the killers
\nAttacked these souls
\nAnd accused them of attacking them
\nWith their myriad controls<\/p>\n
So these activists are facing fines and court and
\nSerious stuff
\nThey were the fearless undaunted ones
\nWho couldn’t get enough
\nAnd they remained so resolute
\nIn the face of ominous crime
\nUnshrinking and unshakable
\nAnd may soon though be serving time<\/p>\n
We all must remember mother
\nWhen she carried us and she
\nProtected us and cared for us
\nWe must now care for thee
\nEach of those enduring pain
\nWe must think well and say
\nEvery earthling deserves a chance
