How is it Corporations
\nGet state funding?
\nWhen we, as common men
\nWe, find our cause
\nis often overlooked
\nour case is good and cooked
\nIts like rowing on a river
\nwithout oars
\nwhite water doesn’t calm
\nbecause of circumstance
\non the contrary
\nits harder to survive
\nwe bruise and scrape our knuckles
\nand as such we suffer pain
\nwe may manage to navigate
\nbut destruction is our gain<\/p>\n

We live, in Wiluna shire
\nThe Ngaah yajana people, who
\nhave lived upon this land of ours
\nfor many a year, a clue
\nWe’re very close
\nto Nature, and we so understand
\nthe climate, and the fauna
\nAnd we realise, what’s planned
\nFear we’re kind of soaked in it
\nit fills each waking hour
\nFor what in fact is happening
\nis we rapidly lose our power
\nall the little things we have
\nToro threatens to
\nTake away and destroy them
\nSo what are we to do? <\/p>\n

Mother Earth, she knows pain too
\nthe uranium ore, she holds
\nShe knows it will be coarsely torn away
\nit all unfolds
\n15 k from where we live, from where we
\nlove
\nand from where we stay
\nits where our daughters
\nand their daughters
\nfeel comfortable to be
\nbut threats of mining
\nand the risks of radio activity
\nTis where the eucalyptus
\ntheir silver leaves engage
\na bounty, and a haven
\nyou don’t have to be
\na sage
\nto realise Australia
\nhas its share of light
\nand the red earth
\nall around us
\nharbours
\nmuch that’s out of sight
\nwhich is why the state can see
\nits better to support
\nThe corporate
\nthan the likes of you or me<\/p>\n

extraction isn’t easy
\nand often water’s used
\nhere in the Western Desert
\nwe are, being abused
\nto waste our precious water
\nsuppressing airborne dust
\nbut this is clearly paramount
\nand thus it must be just
\nopen pits, heap leaching
\nor in situ leaching, are
\nways that the extraction is done
\nand they do scar
\nMother Earth and clearly
\nthe people living near
\nare subject to the growing risks
\nand, on going fear<\/p>\n

Uranium, emits a harmful radon gas
\nLung Cancer the result, for miners who
\nwork, and the risk for the people
\nliving in the vicinity
\nis high as we have learned
\nthus its the view
\nThat our lives in Wiluna
\nare more hazardous, and we
\nare threatened by the mining
\nby this new activity
\n900 or so kilometres from Perth, we are
\n1200 tonnes of Uranium per year
\n14 years or more they will be drilling
\nso truthfully it becomes very clear<\/p>\n

the radio active components
\nto be transported
\nWe ourselves feel thwarted by it all
\nthe destruction of our homeland
\nagain we have no say
\nNuclear Power Plants
\napparently are the chosen way
\nforward now in energy
\nand the people matter less
\nwhere they live
\nand what they do
\nfor them, a little stress
\nis worth the massive energy
\nthat can be made to be
\nprofitable for Government
\ninto infinity.<\/p>\n

The people do not matter
\nThe Government do not care
\nThey forget it was the people
\nWho cared and put them there
\nBut the Government are crazy
\ntheir technical knowledge poor
\nthey listen to the corporates
\nand the people they ignore
\ncleaning up the areas
\nwhen drilling is complete
\nis never done correctly
\nwhen the land is tired and beat
\nthe people many sick
\nor dead, and have lost the will to fight
\nthey live then in the darkness
\nthey may never find the light
\nWiluna may be doomed
\nif Toro gets its way
\nit appears to me Glen Cooke
\nand his community will pay
\nthe price for living near a place
\nwhere Uranium is found
\nFor when the miners come
\nthen the only sound
\nis the crying of our babies
\nof the mothers and those who
\nhave died before their time
