Under the hot sun
\nA donkey is led
\nAlong by two loathsome men
\nThat being said
\nSuddenly one hits the poor donkeys back
\nWith a pole
\nReally truthfully gives it a whack
\nYou can just feel the pain of it
\nThat wincing pain
\nBrought tears to the donkey’s eyes
\nHow it did strain
\nDidn’t retaliate
\nTook it on board
\nBut clearly a price
\nThat it couldn’t afford
\nThen picked up and thrown over his head
\nHarmless and playful
\nAlready looked fed
\nUp with the cruelty
\nWhich looked to be
\nFrightful and brutal
\nToo much for me<\/p>\n
It was hard to watch this
\nThe hurt deep inside
\nThey should have known better
\nBut would have denied
\nPure and unspotted
\nAngelic too
\nLacking all conscience
\nAs to what to do<\/p>\n
The sufferance clearly
\nFrom, deep inside
\nDoleful and tender
\nBut upright with pride
\nNever complaining

Kicked in the head

Angst for that Donkey
\nSuch gravity
\nNo laughing matter
\nDespite what we see
\nTwo rogues desiring to torture
\nA soul
\nTo beat him and hurt him
\nFor that was his role<\/p>\n
Its heavy stuff for a dear little chap
\nSolemn and serious
\nThis was such crap
\nWretched and dismal
\nGloomy and subdued
\nPulled by the ears
\nAnd the back legs
\nSo crude,<\/p>\n
Such aggravation
\nA bizarre affair
\nContemptible mockery
\nThey didn’t care
\nHow much they hurt him
\nHow much despair
\nThey levelled out on him
\nAnd made him share<\/p>\n
The threat and the terror
\nThe hair raising woe
\nThe awesome and terrible
\nDance now on show
\nIt sickens those viewers
