Confronted with such evil
\nA sickness does prevail
\nThe ignorance of consumers
\nA vile and vast travail
\nA grand and handsome animal
\nBares witness and stands tall
\nAs powerful as the day is long
\nAnd loved by one and all

\nBy human tribes who
\nHunt them
\nFor their ivory
\nThey climb into people’s
\nPsyche
\nThrough the far eastern markets
\nWhere
\nChina and Japan account
\nFor the prominent market share<\/p>\n
Consumers though are not aware
\nNecessarily so
\nThat the elephants die
\nProviding it
\nThe intellects not there
\nThe consciousness and perception
\nThe science of the mind
\nSeems Imageless and wanting
\nThat’s what people find<\/p>\n
Unthinking unimaginative
\nSo thoughtless in a way
\nThere is a certain apathy
\nIncurious lets say
\nWe are careless and I attentive
\nPreoccupied, put out
\nNeglectful even careless
\nSo much so we doubt<\/p>\n
We get the wrong impression
\nIt’s our gullibility
\nIt seems a foregone conclusion
\nIn what is pure bigotry
\nRushing to conclusions
\nBelieving we are right
\nThe status symbol rules us
\nIvory is the light<\/p>\n
And with this light comes
\nEvil
\nThe poaching bandit class
\nAnd where there is lots of money
\nThe kingdom of the arse
\nSports itself before us
\nThe murdering brigade
\nThe hunters the black marketeers
\nThe arrogant parade<\/p>\n
The frenzy in the market place
\nThe obsession that’s out there
\nThe psychopaths and sociopaths
\nAnd of course now just how rare
\nIvory is and has been
\nAnd will be we are sure
\nDespite controls
\nDespite CITES
\nStill the blood and gore
\nFaces us in Africa
\nDecapitation rules
\nBloody murdering bandits
\nMoronic demented fools<\/p>\n
That hack the heads of elephants
\nAnd leave them in such pain
\nA wall of woe no where to go
\nAnd few in fact who gain
\nThe elephants sight is fairly poor
\nIt’s expectations though
\nFull of optimism
\nWherever it does go<\/p>\n
An inventiveness and an insight
\nAnd a marvellous memory
\nGreat feelings for each other
\nThat fact is legendary
\nExhibiting great power
\nA great sage in so many ways
\nAnd a stubbornness till now<\/p>\n
In 1990 Ivory was banned
\nAcross the seas
\nBut still the evil represents
\nA rather sick disease
\nA wickedness and a prejudice
\nA catastrophe of thought
\nAnd elephants were being killed
\nDramatically for sport<\/p>\n
And still the desirability is out there
\nAll can see
\nThe flawlessness and quintessence
\nIt is apparently
\nSought after and remarkable
\nIn all it’s precious worth
\nAnd so is most desirable
\nNow on planet Earth<\/p>\n
at this rate all these marvellous souls
\nWill be gone it seems to me
\nThe plaque that is now poaching
\nIs of low quality
\nThe murderous intent the darkest of displays
\nTearing the proud ones heads off
