\nmillions but your
\nnot using your heart
\nalong the River Xingu
\n40,000 souls
\nlive and work and
\nto displace them
\njust proves to me
\nhow poles
\napart you are
\n370 miles are going to
\nbe
\nflooded, all those
\ntrees and plants
\nlost to history<\/p>\n
Indigenous people
\nwe are all indigenous
\nthey stayed on
\nto protect our forests green
\nyou moved to your city
\nyour concrete, and the pity
\napparently has left you
\nthis investments it is mean
\nThe forest are the planets lungs
\nour lungs, if you will
\nflooding it is no investment
\ntruthfully it will kill
\nall the hope, the livelihoods
\nof hundreds of sweet folk
\nis this what you call
\nprogress
\nits more of a sick joke
\nBelo Monte is a massive error
\nits terror to the people, and
\nBrazil
\nmust not allow this massive dam
\nto now come to fruition
\nfor all those people’s
\nspirits it will kill<\/p>\n
Now is the chance to wrestle
\nwith emotions
\nTo realise the folly of your ways
\nthe effort far exceeds
\nthe awful outcome
\nand obviously there are still
\nsufficient days
\nto pull out, for to realise
\nthe error
\nthe terror
\nthat this Belo Monte Dam
\nis going to do to the people
\nthe people of the Xingu
\nwhose consciousness is exactly
\nwhere I am
\nlost in what is a strange
\nrealm of limbo
\nso much living forest
\nwasted here
\nWe’ve almost reached
\nthe gravest of grave
\nscenario’s
\nwith 40,000 people
\nsteeped in fear
\nto me it cannot be
\nallowed to happen
\nIf this threat became a
\nreality, it would mean
\nenvironmental degradation
\non an awful scale
\nand an end to what
\nis all this land, so green
\nall these souls submerged
\nin mud and perils far beyond
\na place of desolation
\nfrom the start
\nno one could imagine
\nJust how ghastly this would be
\nBut just go and see<\/p>\n
one child just one
\nwith a broken heart<\/p>\n
and multiply that up
\nby say 2000
\nthose tears, the cost
\nits absolute this pain
\nmoney in a bank account
\ncan never be a just reward
