\nThe affinity between
\nEach other though improbable
\nA bond in fact has been
\nHad, a true relationship
\nA perspective to behold
\nThere is no logical explanation
\nOf how it did unfold
\nExcept to feel the lioness
\nWas lonely and in fear
\nAnd in consequence was clearly
\nTouched by having an infant near
\nAdoption not a consequence
\nKidnap maybe she
\nFelt motherly towards the soul
\nKind of obsessively
\nIt’s so touching to realise
\nThat these emotions do
\nPermeate the predators
\nFor clearly
\nit is true
\nThe female of the species
\nHas that caring loving side
\nMore so than the male lions
\nAs the end game might decide
\nThe outcome was the baby was taken
\nAs we know and eaten by a male lion
\nBut the lioness she did show
\nThe anguish of a mother
\nFor a lost cub
\nYou could see
\nThe great concern for losing
\nThe baby, earnestly
\nWe feel we are touched to see this
\nHow it panned out for she
\nThen adopted 5 more babies
\nA similarity
\nAn emotional behaviour
\nA maternal bond that spread
\nAcross and out through instinct
\nThat sweet connection led
\nTo caring for another
\nLost soul so to say
\nUnrelated possibly
\nBut love shows us a way
\nPerhaps the most profound love
\nIs the love we really see
\nBetween those who are quite different
