I am a young Elephant
\nBorn in Sri Lanka
\nLooked after by Buddhists
\nA sort of anchor
\nWeighing me down
\nWith their mindless regard
\nTheir goading rebellious
\nEnforcing card<\/p>\n
This is the temple
\nWhere I get thrashed
\nBull hooked and kicked
\nAnd quite often bashed
\nMy mahout is harsh
\nA great domineering
\nBloody and brutal
\nGrabs me by my ear
\nPulls me along how it hurts
\nTo be here
\nA predatory tyrant
\nSpreading the
\nFear<\/p>\n
Forgetting the moment
\nThe anarchical sense
\nSuch interruptions
\nThat make me so tense
\nHe has the whip hand
\nOr believes that he does
\nThinks I am the under dog
\nHe gets his buzz
\nOut of taking me on
\nOut of stretching the point
\nBullying me exhausting each joint
\nThrashing me hard
\nAnd thrashing me long
\nThis whipper snapper
\nOf course he is wrong<\/p>\n
I could just crush him
\nPull him apart
\nStomp on his body
\nBreak open his heart
\nHis declRation of war at a stroke
\nClearly for me this arse
\nIs no joke
\nHe forgets that. I could
\nRetaliate hard
\nForce some retribution
\nHe could be scarred
\nFor life just one
\nCounter stroke
\nOne rapid retort
\nWould leave him so injured
\nProving we fought<\/p>\n
these Buddhist monasteries
\nDetached are they
\nFrom what is reality
\nMaking us pay
\nFor the darkest frustration
\nThey suffer to where
\nThe sacred edifice
\nFew there do share
\nTheir so called brotherhood
\nSupposedly shows
\nLove and compassion
\nInside here it grows<\/p>\n
But it’s Mumbo jumbo
\nFor how they treat me
\nA ritual of evil
\nAnd of solemnity
\nWhipping and flogging
\nOutside the law
\nCriminous of them
\nAnd really what for
\nBecause we are spiritually
\nOn a higher plain
\nWe take all they give us
\nEven the pain<\/p>\n
Keeping our temperance
\nOur moderation
\nWe know our limits
\nAnd our salvation
\nThey are the dregs of society, they
\nDress up in their robes
