The rain held off
\nThe sky so blue
\nThough the grey clouds
\nIn the distance grew<\/p>\n
The wind created music where
\nBranches glistened in the air
\nThe circle came together well
\nThe Druids ritual
\nThe magic spell<\/p>\n
Beltane opened to the soul
\nOf the ancestors who took the roll
\nOut yonder fields of gold drew eyes
\nSubtle greens and butterflies<\/p>\n
Skipped and played
\nOn mole hill downs
\nThe battle royal
\nThe May Queens gowns<\/p>\n
Head dresses and cloaks displayed
\nStaff’s and violet colours weighed
\nInto the scenic glories here
\nRoll Rights, where all else appear<\/p>\n
The whispering knights perplex us all
\nThe maypole dance the ribbons school
\nThe myriad colours seemingly
\nGather us up and help us see<\/p>\n
From far off places around the world
\nThe Druidic feelings all were hurled
\nThey came together inviting cheer
\nIntoxicating the people here<\/p>\n
A fascination clearly grew
\nKindling the spirits who
\nEnthused us all to exhilarate
\nTo restore ourselves to invigorate<\/p>\n
Each other,and to realise
\nThe inspiration from the skies
\nSoul subduing humbling though
\nAs the sorcery began to grow<\/p>\n
We all held hands and shouted Ho
\nBreathlessly we all could know
\nThe rapture and the animation
\nThe excitement pitch was our creation<\/p>\n
Beltane saw the whispering knights
\nDrive themselves to greater heights
\nEncouraging the avid throng
\nTo rise up and to sing their song<\/p>\n
An army really of one voice
\nBrought together out of choice
\nExulted by the will to be
\nEnraptured by its symphony<\/p>\n
Such fulfilment of merry making
\nA blithe spirit and undertaking
\nBlissful blessed brought to be
\nIn Beltane’s gladsome harmony<\/p>\n
