It’s 7 days, a week of absolute terror
\nThe ice runs red from the blood of baby seals
\nWhere’s the true compassion
\nThe empathy for beings the sweetest angels
\nTime alone reveals<\/p>\n
To me complete insanity from The Government
\nThe sealers and the fisherman, for they
\nHave murdered many hundreds of the most iconic souls
\nAnd more and more are being killed each day<\/p>\n
They lie there having been born very recently
\nNursing on their mothers milk still warm
\nThey haven’t got a hope in hells chance of getting away
\nWhen the sealers drum up, their vile storm<\/p>\n
It’s then they look up into the eyes of their killers
\nGreat big doleful eyes stare at the sky
\nAnd these soulless fiends with sticks so big and heavy
\nThey bring down on their heads as there they lie<\/p>\n
They seem to have a loathing for new babies
\nThey seem unwelcome and decidedly
\nBear a great big grudge although the babes don’t budge
\nThey are smashed into the ice so terribly<\/p>\n
Then dragged some of them by the hook that leaves the crimson stream
\nOf blood and sinew leaking from their organs mixed with cream
\nThe rich milk of creation in startling decline
\nA rancorous addition to the last ditch awful whine<\/p>\n
The mothers are lamenting such plangency we hear
\nWeeping and a wailing their bond you see sincere
\nSuch tenderness is so expressed wet eyed and so far gone
\nDowncast and crest fallen alone out there upon<\/p>\n
A collective joylessness spreads like an icy blast
\nDispirited despondency heart aches moving fast
\nA curtain of such gloom extends woebegone and worn
\nThe writhing and the bleeding and the harrowed
\nAnd the torn<\/p>\n
Each year the slaughter happens
\nAnd the prime minister declares
\nWhat the sealers are now doing
\nIs answering their prayers
\nThe seals are being massacred
\nThe babies being killed
\nTo supplement the wages
\nMore blood is being spilled
\nThe pelts are used for fashion
\nThe vanity of man
\nThe killing fields are the ice floes
\nIt’s part of the annual plan<\/p>\n
For 40 years the campaigns have raged
\nAround the world
\nThe maelstrom of our making which
\nAnimals rights has hurled
\nIs raging through icy seas
\nAnd onwards to where we
\nWatch the vile hysterics
