What is a tree
\nA majestic soul
\nWith a heart that grows and grows
\nIt gives rise to our oxygen
\nSupply and clearly knows
\nWhat we discharge the CO2
\nIt needs so in fact
\nWe are truly lovers
\nAnd therefore should attract<\/p>\n
It’s leaves provide our compost
\nRe creating soil
\nIt’s stature provides
\nNoise reduction
\nIt’s continued toil
\nTo reach the sky
\nAnd sink it’s roots
\nAnd be steadfastly strong
\nTo share it’s blossom
\nTo share it’s scent
\nProviding our bird song<\/p>\n
To be a home for the wild ones
\nThe squirrels and the Bees
\nTo let Wood Peckers sculpt them
\nWhen the snow comes down to freeze
\nTo stand aloft when the sun is hot
\nAnd shake in a Autumn storm
\nTo provide good shade
\nTo the handsome Deers
\nAnd keep their young fawns
\nWarm<\/p>\n
Why is it people squander
\nThe bounty that’s supplied
\nWhy is it that they chop trees down
\nWhy have we denied
\nTheir place a place in history
\nMankind is far from kind
\nFar from soulful far from caring
\nSadly he is blind
\nTo what is a glorious forest
\nA verdurous refrain
\nA source of light
\nA shade a screen
\nA canopy again
\nCreating rapturous shadows
\nA place in which to hide
\nA thought a lucubration
\nOr perhaps to climb inside<\/p>\n
If everybody planted a tree
\nOne sapling they
\nCould watch it’s journey to the sky
\nEvery single day
\nTaste it’s glorious scent
\nAnd drink in all it dew
\nSit under it branches
