It’s supposed to be a good idea
\nA novel thing it does appear
\nA fresh approach a fledgeling place
\nA drink some biscuits and mints
\nThe grace
\nOf patting foxes of proving they
\nAre cuddly wild souls
\nWho just may
\nRespond to the loving of city folk
\nWho imagine their input
\nWill sort of soak<\/p>\n
Into their bodies into their souls
\nWarm their spirits
\nThough they are poles
\nApart from the humans and far away
\nFrom their parents in earths
\nWhere they would play<\/p>\n
Will they be cubs
\nAnd if so why
\nWould we split them from their families
\nIt’s a sort of lie
\nWe tell the people
\nIt’s something I
\nCannot agree with
\nAnd so I sigh<\/p>\n
Feeling their angst
\nFor fifteen quid
\nGlaciar mints and a biscuit lid
\nLifted so Fox’s BIS KWITS can
\nBe served with coffee
\nWell that’s the plan<\/p>\n
Wilderness babies
\nShould unceasingly
\nBe out in the countryside
\nWild and free
\nLearning the ropes
\nThe instinctive law
\nThat is what they
\nWere put here for<\/p>\n
Including them in a cafe scene
\nDiners can hold them
\nAnd feel the green
\nSome education for city souls
\nBut hardly the right place
\nAnd their roles<\/p>\n
One of nervousness possibly
\nFor really it’s not the place to be<\/p>\n
The forest life
\nAnd the natural world
\nThat is where they should be hurled
\nDeep on the sod in the earth below
\nGetting trained by mum
\nAs they grow
\nLearning to hunt learning to play
\nMusic and movement
\nEveryday<\/p>\n
Foxes are put upon
\nOut there now
\nHunting with hounds
\nThey show us how
\nThey need to scarper
\nAnd know the ropes
\nAgainst the hunters
\nThey lose their hopes<\/p>\n
So to lose their freedom
\nAnd families too
\nTo the cafe owners
\nA little zoo
\nOf a place where they
\nWill be sharing their bodies
\nEveryday<\/p>\n
Coffee and biscuits
\nGlaciar mints
\nSucking and chewing and drinking since
\nMay I hear
\nWhen Fox Cafe will open its doors
\nA beverage or two
\nAnd some applause<\/p>\n
