\nCircus supposedly
\nBrings joy to your children
\nSomeone once said
\nBut not by creating a show
\nBorn from torture
\nIncredible cruelty
\nDon’t get in bed<\/p>\n
With any of these so called
\nVile entertainers
\nDire perpetrators
\nWho care little for
\nOr respect any animal
\nThey are in charge of
\nStruggling on chains
\nTurning limbs to blood and gore<\/p>\n
Beating the dogs
\nWho are thrashing before them
\nIt’s inappropriate
\nSuch jeopardy
\nThey are so vulnerable
\nPerforming like crazy
\nAnd under duress
\nIs just no place to be<\/p>\n
Bull hooks that dig into hide
\nDrawing blood spurts
\nInto arthritic legs
\nCausing terrible pain
\nThese willing obedient
\nElephant emirs
\nJust facing days of this
\nAgain and again<\/p>\n
Just watch them swaying
\nThe pain and aggression
\nManacled, pilloried
\nSuppressed we can see
\nWe can hear, we can feel
\nThese great beasts
\nAnd How they are tortured
\nIt doesn’t appeal<\/p>\n
Horses and donkeys
\nAll sorts of animals
\nThere is no compromise
\nNothing at all
\nIt’s all just possession
\nThey have a stranglehold
\nAnd the depression
\nHow it’s all sold<\/p>\n
The big top the saw dust
\nThe cry of the cornets
\nThe high wire the band playing
\nClowns in the ring
\nBuckets of make believe
\nAll of it ugly
\nYou can feel the uneasiness
\nAnd lots of vile bling<\/p>\n
Whimpering whining mournful
\nAnd doleful
\nPathetic and pitiful
\nBlubbering souls
\nA circus a sort of gala fiesta
\nEach mild mannered creature
\nLost to their controls<\/p>\n
Be ashamed India
\nLand of the guru’s
\nAshrams all over
\nAnd temples of gold
\nAnd all of this cruelty
\nGoing on in tHe background
\nThat is the nature of circus
\nI hold<\/p>\n
Don’t send your children
\nAnywhere near them
\nIt’s cruelty based
\nA dreary drab hole
\nProsaic and pedestrian
\nUnlovely and shocking
\nLook at them rocking
\nOut of control<\/p>\n
Circus is bad taste
\nIt’s full of vulgarity
\nTawdriness grossly unseemly
\nTo pay and to see
\nThe ringmasters evil
\nThe smell of the grease paint
\nThe sand in your eyes
\nAnd each animals plea<\/p>\n
Help us survive this
\nBy not buying tickets
\nBy protecting your children
\nFrom what is a sin
\nThe knock about clowns
\nAnd their dis tempered white faces
\nSad caricatures
\nIt’s all wearing thin<\/p>\n
They are driven insane
\nBy the sick repetition
\nBy the, lack of freedom
\nAnd terrible food
\nChained onto bars and transported
\nBadly
\nFearful and mortal
\nExceedingly crude
\nIntimidation beating and kicking
\nSlapping and shocking
\nKnees knocking oh dear
\nCircus now everywhere has to be banned<\/p>\n
Has to be closed down
