Hydraulic fracturing fracking for short
\nWe are caught up in terror
\nOnce we all thought
\nFracking was energy saving and we
\nWere promised the earth
\nBut what do we see<\/p>\n
They drill under our homes
\nOur water supply
\nIs terribly smelly
\nContaminants high
\nWe give to our families
\nNose bleeds and more
\nOur children are sickly
\nAnd what is more <\/p>\n
the roads all around here
\nAre torn up and bad
\nOur beautiful countryside
\nIs a fracking pad
\nOur rivers and lakes
\nAre polluted as hell
\nWe are governed by idiots
\nAnd that vile smell<\/p>\n
Hangs over us daily
\nOur taps often run
\nBlack greasy sludge
\nWhat have they done
\nWhy did we agree to sign up to this
\nThe government clearly
\nWere taking the piss<\/p>\n
The fat cats the corporates
\nBludgeoned their way
\nThrough our local community
\nWe have no say
\nWe have no protection
\nWe are lost in the mire
\nOur air water environment
\nReally it’s dire<\/p>\n
Once we were happy our countryside was
\nBeautiful then came the frackers
\nBecause
\nfracking was better than sliced bread
\nAnd we
\nWere told it was happening
\nIt had to be<\/p>\n
Now look around it’s terrible here
\nEarthquakes pollution
\nAll of us fear
\nThe vile consequences
\nAnd as for those who
\nVoted for fracking
\nWho didn’t have a clue<\/p>\n
They were in the pockets
\nOf BIG Energy they
\nCame into our town
\nAnd blew us away
\nI fear for our children
\nIn the hands of this mob
\nWho have stolen their future
\nTheir lives tHey did rob<\/p>\n
So many lies were expounded and we
\nSuffer the terror
\nImmeasurably
\nPollution is everywhere
\nMany are sick
\nCancers are rife
\nAnd we are getting stick
\nSo much of what we expected has gone
\nAnd we know that we got from them
\nA fanciful con<\/p>\n
Fracking the shale
\nIt has failed us today
\nOur parks and our countryside
\nWasting away
\nOur farms and amenities
\nIt’s terrible now
\nAt night when I sleep
\nInside I ask how<\/p>\n
I let myself be conned
\nI now suffer so
\nAll quality life
\nSadly did go
\nMy children are sick
\nAnd now so am I
\nIf only I had listened
\nI ask myself why<\/p>\n
I just let the few protest
\nIn the street
\nThe pagans the youngsters
\nI did retreat
\nDidn’t believe them
\nThey broke the law
\nAnd I do now realise
