A certain drabness still hangs
\nOver the remnants of the wooden huts
\nYou can just about picture a graveyard here
\nIt kind of gets into your guts
\nA wretched cheerless uninhabited place
\nOf souls from years gone by
\nA rail track grey and sombre
\nWhere thousands did in fact die<\/p>\n
Barbed wire fences there to keep
\nThe prisoners at bay
\nBirch trees sweep into the misty sky
\nAnd fade away
\nA mist hangs clingingly near the road
\nThat by passes the camp
\nIt’s has the look of wretchedness
\nWhich is altogether damp<\/p>\n
You can all imagine that agony
\nAll that fearful pain
\nThe karma of the lost souls
\nThe sweep of the refrain
\nThe sick the old the injured
\nAuschwitz-birkenau
\nA place that created terror
