What’s left
\nOf our lovely friend
\nThat handsome feathered soul
\nThat didn’t have a chance of life
\nNot even a role
\nIn his own humanity
\nHe was selfless and detached
\nAnd just because of Christmas
\nOf course he’s been dispatched<\/p>\n
He was healthy looking forward
\nTo life with all his mates
\nEverything he ever had
\nAnd all his noble traits
\nTo wander out upon the grass
\nAnd peck upon the earth
\nWhose temple was the farmyard
\nThe odd apple brought him worth<\/p>\n
A well proportioned enchanting soul
\nA strutter one might say
\nA natty stylish dapper
\nMore Magnificent each day
\nWho was killed so human beings
\nCould just once a year
\nRoast and eat his body
\nAnd imagine that would cheer<\/p>\n
He was caught and murdered slowly
\nHis agony was long
\nThey pulled most of his feathers out
\nWhich we all know was wrong
\nBut he was fighting madly
\nHe had no wish to die
\nThey snapped his neck
\nAnd trod on him
\nWhich made some of us cry<\/p>\n
Unlike you human beings
\nTurkey’s cry we do
\nTurkey’s love each other
\nAnd he walked tall too
\nHe just was not deserving of such a death
\nFor he
\nWas kindly and was helpful
\nAnd was needed actually<\/p>\n
But now his ragged carcass
\nSits upon a greasy plate
\nIn a cold damp larder
\nAwaiting its fate
\nMore flesh carved this morning
\nThen thrust into some pot
\nMade into a steaming stew
\nThat we will smell
\nFor what
\nSo all those fucking humans
\nWho consider themselves so high
\nAnd mighty can cavort and sup
\nHis spirit with their pie<\/p>\n
We shall those left in the pen
\nRemember him for we
\nLoved him really loved him
\nThough we know now where he be
\nPecking underneath the rainbow bridge
\nIn Summer land
\nMaking new friends hopefully
\nWhilst we try to understand
\nLosing him our cherished friend
\nWas really too much and we
\nHate this so called celebration
