Missing and murdered women
\nIs a serious affair
\nHumanity has now to stop
\nAnd realise how rare
\nWomen in the community are
\nAnd we have to see
\nThat they are equal
\nEverywhere they go
\nIt seems to me<\/p>\n
Within First Nations government
\nThere has to be a way
\nOf giving women there a vote
\nGiving them a say
\nThey cannot be subservient
\nWhy should they anyway
\nThey have as much right on this earth
\nAs men do
\nAnd they pay <\/p>\n
a great deal in
\nThe emotional power
\nAnd have to realise
\nTheir ethnic potentiality
\nFor they too are so wise
\nWe need their femininity
\nIt’s essential and we must
\nForgo this patriarchal stuff
\nBecause it isn’t just<\/p>\n
Prejudicing everything
\nIt’s sending out concern
\nAnd outside the community
\nOthers need to learn
\nThe power of the First Nation women
\nThe skills that they possess
\nSo many being murdered
\nIt’s important that we stress<\/p>\n
They have their own identity
\nAnd can transform so much
\nThe turmoil in the offing
\nIs devising them as such
\nRinelle was beaten badly
\nHer confidence was low
\nShe was a first nation women
\nA survivor as we know
\nAddressing the big meeting
\nShe took the beating and she
\nCame back to make it obvious
\nHow she wanted to see<\/p>\n
Women given a greater say
\nIn the future which they are
\nIntegrally a part of
\nThrough this mishap may scar
\nSome it didn’t daunt her
\nShe came right back to show
\nThe men who run the nations hierarchy
\nHave to grow<\/p>\n
It’s grow and accept the women
\nAccept an equal stance
\nAnd show the others outside this land
\nThat they have to have that chance
\nThey have to walk their talk
\nThey really have to be
\nIn the now and in the future
