\nOn Knightsbridge has it’s vast array
\nOf cruelty beyond the realms
\nMaking innocent animals pay
\nStolen pets from China
\nWild feral dogs all who
\nWould prefer their created life
\nThan what some big stores do<\/p>\n
Wield their vile controlling knives
\nAnd anal pokers they
\nCall for trapping and wire cage sapping
\nEvil come what may
\nEmploying the low life trappers
\nWith their ugly steel jaw traps
\nMany go mad
\nMany more are sad
\nTreated to innumerable slaps<\/p>\n
Anyone with compassion
\nThat stores can become this low
\nCan overlook the cruelty
\nFor the profits that just flow
\nCan stop their ears from the terror shrieks
\nCan turn their heads and say
\nIn their boardrooms think of margins
\nAnd forget those far away<\/p>\n
Forget the awful methods
\nFamilies torn to shreds
\nCubs and kittens dying
\nIn their wild straw beds
\nHopeful that their mothers
\nWere coming back to feed
\nBut the trapper slapped his
\nVile contraption
\nAnd the mother she does bleed<\/p>\n
Out now crying terribly
\nFor her family who will die
\nShe goes to the summer land beside herself
\nWith teardrops in each eye
\nWild animals most thrust in cages
\nLeft out in cold climes
\nSo their fur grows thicker
\nYes such sordid times<\/p>\n
It’s all about the profit
\nNot a prophet anywhere
\nThe vile and sordid management
\nOf the balance sheet despair
\nAnd so we talk of protest
\nOur Saturdays are spent
\nGiving it some welly
\nTrying to make a dent<\/p>\n
In the sales figures of Harvey Nichols
\nTrying to dissuade
\nThe would be new investors
\nTo pass by their parade
\nThere was a time when ethics
\nTook them and they did
\nGive up fur for many years
\nBut a new buyer did bid<\/p>\n
For returning to the evil ways
\nOf cruelty and fear
\nTo improve the annual mark up
\nWas the target for that year
\nAnd now they keep on doing it
\nCaring not at all
\nThey just want to make money
\nSo we erect our stall<\/p>\n
Outside their front door weekly
\nAnd tell the passers by
\nThis store is not what it appears
\nThere’s a big tear in the eye
\nOf every fur bearing animal
\nThat comes in contact for they
\nAre tortured and slaughtered sadly
\nSo that the store can have its way<\/p>\n
The voiceless have no say at all
\nSo we become their voice
\nWe ask the various passers by
\nWe tell them there’s a choice
\nSo many stores have ditched the fur
\nSo many saw the light
\nBut Harvey Nichols is not one of them
