A homeless man
\nFeels helpless
\nNo where to lay his head
\nHe hasn’t got a fixed address
\nJust a shop doorway no less<\/p>\n
Nobody now notices him
\nHis clothes ragged and torn
\nHis hands are cold and gnarled and sore
\nLike us all yes he was born<\/p>\n
He was a little baby
\nHe had a loving mum
\nShe carried him for 9 long months
\nIn her nice warm tum<\/p>\n
But now she’s dead
\nAnd he’s now alone
\nAnd we cannot see
\nHim sitting on the pavement
\nApologetically<\/p>\n
Legs go this way
\nLegs go that way
\nPeople on their phones
\nShoppers no one sees him
\nNo one hears his groans<\/p>\n
They cannot feel his sadness
\nThey do not wonder where
\nHe will soon be bedding down
\nOn a park bench somewhere<\/p>\n
No food in his stomach
\nNo pillow for his head
\nJust cold wind and rain
\nPerhaps
