Where else dare I sleep
\nMum died and daddy too
\nThey blew up our home
\nWhy?
\nI have no clue<\/p>\n
Where I can go
\nWhat’s to become of me
\nAll I ever loved is gone
\nAs you all can see
\nThere is no other place
\nThat I would rather be<\/p>\n
I have to say
\nPerhaps with my dear mother
\nWho will sleep my life away<\/p>\n
She was always very good to me
\nShe loved me and I know
\nThat I can’t stay here for ever
\nBut I have no place to go<\/p>\n
At first I couldn’t sleep at all
\nAnd now at least I can
\nI feel my mother is close by
\nAnd as a little man<\/p>\n
Here between my parents
\nIt’s the best place I can be
\nAll the while the weather holds
\nI think it’s best for me<\/p>\n
And sometimes when I am sleeping
\nI hear my mother say
\nHow sad she had to close her eyes
\nAnd not see me that day<\/p>\n
And so I tell her in my sleep
\nThat I will always be
\nBeside her and will never forget
