A grey sky
\nThe sun peeping out of the clouds
\nThe snow hard and cold
\nAs we made our way to
\nOver the compacted snow on the highway
\nWhere are they taking me
\nSomewhere that’s new<\/p>\n
A long journey far away
\nIt’s now so much brighter
\nStill lots of snow
\nBut snow that’s much whiter<\/p>\n
It’s night time when we get
\nTo this great red barn
\nAnd just left me there
\nTo share a long yarn<\/p>\n
To rest up and feel what it’s like
\nTo be there
\nMorning comes and the realisation
\nThat someone will share<\/p>\n
My life a new sister
\nWith a lovely moo
\nA great big soft barn
\nThat’s when I met you<\/p>\n
Tricia was there
\nA sister for me
\nYou see with your ears
\nWhen your eyes cannot see<\/p>\n
We kiss and we taste
\nWe care
\nFor we be
\nTogether in what is
\nThe farm sanctuary <\/p>\n
They brought me here
\nTook the time and the trouble
\nAnd when she did appear<\/p>\n
Sort of in my thoughts
\nWe both knew that we
\nCould be friends and great friends
\nIt just had to be<\/p>\n
We eat together
\nWe lay here too
\nWe are both blind
\nBut we know and we knew<\/p>\n
Someone was out there
\nSomeone did care
\nSomeone to share our lives with
\nSomeone rare<\/p>\n
We are both saved we are joyous to be
\nIn this lovely place
\nCalled the farm sanctuary<\/p>\n
I came from a CAFO
\nA huge concrete place
\nWith thousands of my kind
\nAll over the place<\/p>\n
Vast smelly stalls
\nAnd cold concrete floors
\nWhere mothers like me
\nDevelop big sores<\/p>\n
To me it was awful
\nSo huge a great place
\nThe noise it was deafening
\nA real disgrace<\/p>\n
But now it is peaceful
\nThe barn floor so soft
\nLovely rich hay to hear
\nKept in the loft<\/p>\n
Lovely sweet people
\nWho care for us here
\nAnd my new found sister
