The excitement is unbearable
\nGetting on the train
\nthat will be your home
\nfor 3 whole days
\nwill protect you as you comb
\nand wind yourselves through
\nDeserts, over raging rivers where
\n“Salties” live and would love to give
\nchase if you fell in there<\/p>\n
To sit and watch a continent
\nslip by before our eyes
\nwe receive its motivation
\nand creations the surprise
\nwe always can refer back to
\nthe Specimen trees we saw
\nto the mountains
\nall those colours
\nof the sun sets we adore<\/p>\n
The different greens
\nall natural,
\nwere impossible to see
\nthe lilacs and rich dark red
\nand we saw them so
\nclearly
\nWe slept when darkness fell of course
\nas the train continued on
\nTo pastures new, more sights to view
\nAs some ghost towns had gone<\/p>\n
Man’s great ingenuity
\nprovides us with a way
\na lengthy locomotive
\nthat rides the rails all day
\ncutting across great forests
\nand fields of sugar cane
\ncabbage palms that wave their arms
\nand the tree less limestone plain<\/p>\n
So many wholesome vistas
\nare there before our eyes
\nIn a continent as big as Australia
\nits size
\nserved up to the traveller
\nfrom the comfort of their seat
\nits a truly wondrous experience
\nthat you’ll find hard to beat<\/p>\n
No matter what your age is
\nthe child comes to the fore
\nIt wants to run around the carriage
\nand look out, of the door
\nIt wants to see the wild life
\nIt wants to very much
