so we all just put up with the bruising<\/p>\n
we get<\/p>\n
we learn all these tricks<\/p>\n
and we just let<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
the, assorted trainers<\/p>\n
knock us about<\/p>\n
starve us and do what ever<\/p>\n
just clout<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
chain us up this is not elephant stuff<\/p>\n
month after month<\/p>\n
life does get rough<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
and then there’s performing<\/p>\n
night after night<\/p>\n
we’re allergic to paint<\/p>\n
so nothing goes right<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
they feed \u00a0us on food<\/p>\n
that is rancid or dry<\/p>\n
it s overwhelming<\/p>\n
and that is no lie<\/p>\n

its the height of absurdity<\/p>\n
clowning about<\/p>\n
and such hopelessness<\/p>\n
and mistrust and such doubt<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
we do fear the bull hooks<\/p>\n
we do suffer pain<\/p>\n
we are mentally frightened<\/p>\n
again and again<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
we take those expletives<\/p>\n
we do what they say<\/p>\n
we climb on our back legs<\/p>\n
and often we pay<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
and one day it all snaps<\/p>\n
the anger creates<\/p>\n
one too many bull hooks<\/p>\n
and it just \u00a0grates<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
it pushes us over<\/p>\n
our \u00a0anger explodes<\/p>\n
and we fucking well bash them<\/p>\n
and out on the roads<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
through the gates<\/p>\n
we just run<\/p>\n
we know we must be<\/p>\n
at the end of our tether<\/p>\n
we cannot run free<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
the bullets will fly<\/p>\n
so what we must do<\/p>\n
is just take some with \u00a0us<\/p>\n
trample on a few<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n

despair<\/p>\n

I had lost the fight<\/p>\n

circuses do<\/p>\n
drive us to anger<\/p>\n
there’s very few<\/p>\n

elephants \u00a0out there<\/p>\n
in circus these days<\/p>\n
who remembers<\/p>\n
me and my murderous ways<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I was as gentle as any around<\/p>\n
calm and collected<\/p>\n
hardly a sound<\/p>\n
did I make I was strong<\/p>\n
but I knew<\/p>\n
