A hot day in April
\nA Sunday
\nWhy not!
\nLets go down to the falls
\nwe can all see a lot
\nSo our destination
\nwas Les Murdie Falls
\neasy to reach
\nthough from various chools
\na thought on this subject
\nBut Stephen agreed
\nto get down to the look out
\nI should succeed<\/p>\n
So off we all went
\nWith clatter and song
\nCris and the little ones
\nWhat could go wrong?
\nEveryone left me
\nI struggled to see
\nIf I could manage
\nthe climb and still be
\nable to see the falls
\nthat was my quest
\ngetting there
\nreally I have to invest
\nsome extra gumption
\nfor 2 levels down
\nthe paving ran out
\nand loose stone grey and brown<\/p>\n
Steps without hand rails
\nand dangerous terrain
\nand now on my own
\nmean’t a great deal of strain
\nSo decided to sit at rock level 2
\nWondering really what I could do
\nAbout 2 hours later
\nthey did return
\nthere wasn’t much water there
\nthat much I learn
\nso not much to see
\nwhich was sad in a way
\nFor it could have been great
\nSomebody did say<\/p>\n
The scenery, birdlife
\nthe speciment trees
\nBut along came mosquito’s
\nto sample my knees
\nmy elbows, my arms
\nI had no where to go
\nI became the blood bank
\nand boy did it flow
\nSo I thought philosophically
\nWhat I could do
\nWas maintain composure
\nand do that all through
\nFor my blood would ensure
\nThe babies would thrive
\nAnd that in itself
\nhelped me to survive<\/p>\n
I still have some scars
\na month or 2 later
\nBut could have had worse
\nif I’d met an old gator
\nso Lesmurdie Falls was
\na day out for me
\nAnd I helped, a cute mosquito
\nfamily.
\nSo it wasnt so bad
\na day in the sun
\nsome solitude and
