Man’s best friend<\/p>\n
a term that’s used so widely<\/p>\n
if then is man’s best friend<\/p>\n
then what chance we<\/p>\n
millions are nor being murdered<\/p>\n
everywhere<\/p>\n
in pounds in shelters<\/p>\n
look at this and see<\/p>\n
a tailgate of a truck<\/p>\n
was loose and open<\/p>\n
and out they poured<\/p>\n
like milk into a bowl<\/p>\n
animals each one a sweet creation<\/p>\n
each had a heart a mind<\/p>\n
and a sweet soul<\/p>\n
someone owned and supposedly look after them<\/p>\n
but really in a nutshell<\/p>\n
let them be<\/p>\n
the cruelty was evident<\/p>\n
they found themselves alone<\/p>\n
and lost and in a shelter<\/p>\n
tragically<\/p>\n
everybody wiped their hands<\/p>\n
and turned away<\/p>\n
and executions happened<\/p>\n
they happen every day<\/p>\n
loaded up like rubbish<\/p>\n
no ceremony at all<\/p>\n
and shipped off to the landfill<\/p>\n
and dumped that was their call<\/p>\n
lives wasted lost and thrown away<\/p>\n
this is man’s idea<\/p>\n
use them and abuse them<\/p>\n
and fill their lives with fear<\/p>\n
if this what we do to friends<\/p>\n
to our enemies god knows<\/p>\n
and the shelters role in all of this<\/p>\n
the sadness really grows<\/p>\n
shelters are just stages<\/p>\n
where execution seems<\/p>\n
the only course of action<\/p>\n
the rest is in our dreams<\/p>\n
we take them to the shelter<\/p>\n
a place really where death<\/p>\n
comes to all and sundry<\/p>\n
that’s where all life and breath<\/p>\n
is stolen very rapidly<\/p>\n
ts the land fill as their grave<\/p>\n
tossed into a hill of doom<\/p>\n
nobody to save<\/p>\n
any little creature<\/p>\n
left to rot away<\/p>\n
to be eaten by the vermin drawn there<\/p>\n
night and day<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
it was employee error<\/p>\n
how it came to light<\/p>\n
but reality explains it all<\/p>\n
it happens day and night<\/p>\n
every day these trips occur<\/p>\n
the shelter s the place<\/p>\n
where slaughter is the only means<\/p>\n
another sick disgrace<\/p>\n
a wake up call<\/p>\n
to all of us<\/p>\n
that man’s best friend<\/p>\n
is killed<\/p>\n
every hour of every day<\/p>\n
their blood is being spilled<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
How sick we are<\/p>\n
to allow this<\/p>\n
but t easier to say<\/p>\n
sorry chum we are tired of you<\/p>\n
you have to go away<\/p>\n
each has a heart<\/p>\n
each has a mind<\/p>\n
each has a soul as well<\/p>\n
but we don’t want you anymore<\/p>\n
so are putting you in Hell<\/p>\n
