To be a carer<\/p>\n
takes a lot out of you<\/p>\n
24\/7 thats the rules<\/p>\n
in play<\/p>\n
mindfulness and diligence<\/p>\n
go hand in hand<\/p>\n
with assiduity<\/p>\n
and how they pay<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
thoroughness<\/p>\n
and meticulousness<\/p>\n
in all things<\/p>\n
vigilance comes knocking<\/p>\n
at the door<\/p>\n
probity and watchfulness<\/p>\n
and being conscientious<\/p>\n
alert and ready<\/p>\n
which they just, cannot ignore<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
any little foible that surfaces<\/p>\n
on every level you have to be there<\/p>\n
equal to whatever<\/p>\n
and of course so ruddy \u00a0clever<\/p>\n
a janitor on joy<\/p>\n
and very rare<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
a medical imbalance<\/p>\n
can frustrate one<\/p>\n
but understanding and study<\/p>\n
have to be<\/p>\n
coupled with the SEN’s and \u00a0 the<\/p>\n
paraphernalia<\/p>\n
there’s so much paper work<\/p>\n
and mystery<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
a single parent<\/p>\n
really gets to struggle<\/p>\n
alone upon the educational plane<\/p>\n
day in day out<\/p>\n
every sort of exposure<\/p>\n
one’s life feels like<\/p>\n
its \u00a0going down the drain<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
and then government<\/p>\n
imposes it’s conditions<\/p>\n
the carer takes the can<\/p>\n
and soldiers on<\/p>\n
everywhere you go in life<\/p>\n
the carers work their butts<\/p>\n
off<\/p>\n
the cloak of sweet perfection<\/p>\n
then they don<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I know a special carer<\/p>\n
with a medically disabled son<\/p>\n
she does just about \u00a0everything for him<\/p>\n
she’s on the run<\/p>\n
as for \u00a0family members<\/p>\n
they must realise and know\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n the stress levels that rise each day<\/p>\n and probably still grow<\/p>\n is that ever \u00a0a \u00a0surprise<\/p>\n the carer does more work each day<\/span><\/p>\n for \u00a0society denies<\/p>\n <\/p>\n they are quick to throw the book at them<\/span><\/p>\n for what or who achieves<\/p>\n the children at \u00a0all stages<\/p>\n and the carer who believes<\/p>\n <\/p>\n as to other family members<\/p>\n what you have to do<\/p>\n is realise the stress factors<\/p>\n peruse create pursue<\/p>\n listen to the carer<\/p>\n show them how you feel<\/p>\n remember its an unpaid task<\/p>\n but very very real<\/p>\n <\/p>\n at every level it is there<\/p>\n fighting to be seen<\/p>\n the carer does their damndest<\/p>\n for you all know where they have been<\/p>\n backwards through the mangle<\/p>\n forwards to the sky<\/p>\n sideways to the<\/p>\n far horizons<\/p>\n and that, is no lie<\/p>\n <\/p>\n the work is from the morning<\/p>\n to the night and back again<\/p>\n there’s no rest for the carer<\/p>\n its really full on pain<\/p>\n and nobody to help you<\/p>\n nobody else does care<\/p>\n they just take you for granted<\/p>\n or wish you were never there<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Holidays there are none<\/p>\n the state may help a while<\/p>\n but its an exchange<\/p>\n a profit motivation<\/p>\n all the while<\/p>\n they give some supplementation<\/p>\n but the carer gives it all<\/p>\n it becomes a lifelong commitment<\/p>\n they are, always on call<\/p>\n <\/p>\n they may have a carers passport<\/p>\n a medical may be<\/p>\n they may get some perks<\/p>\n outside the home<\/p>\n but alone they have to be<\/p>\n socially their life is<\/p>\n tied to caring thats their thing<\/p>\n the educational red tape<\/p>\n can very often bring<\/p>\n a carer to their knees<\/p>\n for women carers<\/p>\n find it hard<\/p>\n they really have to battle<\/p>\n and always be on guard<\/p>\n family tend to neglect them<\/p>\n the state makes matters worse<\/p>\n the schools they have strict dictums<\/p>\n it feels like some great curse<\/p>\n <\/p>\n there’s joy I suppose in knowing<\/p>\n that your life is committed to<\/p>\n the care and love of someone else<\/p>\n and this all your life through<\/p>\n how you are taken for granted<\/p>\n really left to be<\/p>\n a warrior a worrier into infinity<\/p>\n <\/p>\n financially its difficult<\/p>\n creatively \u00a0one finds<\/p>\n your own health tends to suffer<\/p>\n the work load how it grinds<\/p>\n even the most loving caring sharing<\/p>\n down, for they<\/p>\n seldom can get real help<\/p>\n from their friends along the way<\/p>\n <\/p>\n a carer is an angel<\/p>\n the task goes on and on<\/p>\n other family members have their lives<\/p>\n out there upon<\/p>\n the mortal plain of consequence<\/p>\n their freedom clearly seen<\/p>\n but the carer has to go it alone<\/p>\n for they have been<\/p>\n <\/p>\n conditioned often neglected<\/p>\n by a partner actually<\/p>\n and there’s few around<\/p>\n prepared it seems to share<\/p>\n and so we see<\/p>\n and unpaid servant<\/p>\n chattel to the state<\/p>\n ignored and left<\/p>\n a pawn on life’s great chessboard<\/p>\n who others just berate<\/p>\n <\/p>\n all their dreams and wishes<\/p>\n on the back burner, they<\/p>\n must take on the great caring job<\/p>\n as life fritters away<\/p>\n they are not on any payroll<\/p>\n its a fight they have each day<\/p>\n just life itself begins to get them down<\/p>\n that is the way<\/p>\n <\/p>\n if you know \u00a0a carer<\/p>\n you know a special soul<\/p>\n someone who has joined the path<\/p>\n and taken on the role<\/p>\n the sympathy of family<\/p>\n is destined to be hard<\/p>\n for truthfully so many<\/p>\n are selfishly on guard<\/p>\n <\/p>\n and so the single parent<\/p>\n whose a carer she may find<\/p>\n those who should be helping<\/p>\n suddenly are blind<\/p>\n they do not want to see her role<\/p>\n they do not want to share<\/p>\n she is disenfranchised<\/p>\n just for being there<\/p>\n <\/p>\n a sentinel, a chaperon<\/p>\n resigned to what they do<\/p>\n it becomes a mission<\/p>\n some surrender thats my view<\/p>\n their internal emotions<\/p>\n are often numbed as they<\/p>\n are beaten up by all and sundry<\/p>\n all along the way<\/p>\n <\/p>\n they are sadly the victim<\/p>\n of society for they<\/p>\n took it on themselves<\/p>\n to \u00a0care<\/p>\n and for that caring, pay<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I happen to love a carer<\/p>\n and see her in the light<\/p>\n feel her sweet emotion<\/p>\n and sometimes she does bite<\/p>\n sometimes we must take on<\/p>\n a caring role and be<\/p>\n a carer to a carer<\/p>\n invest in her and see<\/p>\n <\/p>\n share and entrust<\/p>\n your errand<\/p>\n try to liberate<\/p>\n give her some time<\/p>\n to realise<\/p>\n help her to placate<\/p>\n help her share \u00a0her worries<\/p>\n her burden and her soul<\/p>\n so at least she can rejuvenate<\/p>\n and reinvigorate her role<\/p>\n <\/p>\n that sharing<\/p>\n may be daring<\/p>\n may be wearing<\/p>\n may be so<\/p>\n but really to love a carer<\/p>\n is the most wonderful thing<\/p>\n you know<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n and it may appear she doesn’t<\/p>\n love you no matter she<\/p>\n is on a path so winding so laborious<\/p>\n her key<\/p>\n is a smile, a joyous \u00a0countenance<\/p>\n a single want of joy<\/p>\n if you can give a carer some of your time<\/p>\n it will buoy\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n her up and that is special<\/p>\n for you are caring too<\/p>\n imagine that involement<\/p>\n and all that will accrue<\/p>\n <\/p>\n possibly not in this life<\/p>\n it matters not for she<\/p>\n has taken on a role<\/p>\n that sees a soul<\/p>\n rise rapidly<\/p>\n and this role rewards those who<\/span><\/p>\n become a sharing carer<\/p>\n to the carer<\/span><\/p>\n thats my view\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n love has many dimensions<\/span><\/p>\n so
