{"id":16527,"date":"2014-06-23T19:42:15","date_gmt":"2014-06-23T19:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=16527"},"modified":"2014-09-23T09:47:49","modified_gmt":"2014-09-23T09:47:49","slug":"summer-solstice-at-roll-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/06\/summer-solstice-at-roll-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Solstice at Roll Rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oxfordshire boasts a yellow stone<\/p>\n<p>that masons sculpt and build<\/p>\n<p>all the way to Roll Right&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>where the standing stones concealed<\/p>\n<p>in trees and in a circle<\/p>\n<p>ragged stones now be<\/p>\n<p>lichen embellished obelisks<\/p>\n<p>clothed in mystery<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>other worldly spirituals<\/p>\n<p>a Druidic ceremony<\/p>\n<p>held within a circle<\/p>\n<p>of friends, who seek to be<\/p>\n<p>Protecting,creating strength and Peace<\/p>\n<p>to everyone alive<\/p>\n<p>on this marvellous Planet Earth<\/p>\n<p>where most of us survive<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>and on this Summer Solstice<\/p>\n<p>the longest day<\/p>\n<p>in time<\/p>\n<p>when the sun god rules<\/p>\n<p>with majesty<\/p>\n<p>tis then all hearts do climb<\/p>\n<p>together clasping hands<\/p>\n<p>we felt the influence and power<\/p>\n<p>the strength and understanding<\/p>\n<p>and the justice of the hour<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>love within the circle<\/p>\n<p>a warmth,<\/p>\n<p>a caring, we<\/p>\n<p>could feel \u00a0all that togetherness<\/p>\n<p>and all that \u00a0energy<\/p>\n<p>as the songbirds watched, for me<\/p>\n<p>their twittering it had \u00a0ceased<\/p>\n<p>they were clearly witness to it all<\/p>\n<p>and not the least<\/p>\n<p>the coming together of existences<\/p>\n<p>they heard the silent call<\/p>\n<p>and their respect was honoured<\/p>\n<p>we roared into the sky<\/p>\n<p>used the breath we were born with<\/p>\n<p>the element to defy<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>the pagan ladies took the lead<\/p>\n<p>in white they led us through<\/p>\n<p>the standing stones were party<\/p>\n<p>to the ritual, good and true<\/p>\n<p>around us gently swaying trees<\/p>\n<p>as the sanctity was drawn<\/p>\n<p>a peacefulness was felt by all<\/p>\n<p>an invocation torn<\/p>\n<p>from<\/p>\n<p>ancestral rites,. and those who met<\/p>\n<p>to work for good and grace<\/p>\n<p>a blessedness of spirit<\/p>\n<p>a pilgrimage, a place<\/p>\n<p>within the Roll Right&#8217;s circle<\/p>\n<p>a meeting of like minds<\/p>\n<p>where all around the trees and<\/p>\n<p>wild plants clarity enshrines<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>some people came just to observe<\/p>\n<p>others heard the call<\/p>\n<p>the Pagan&#8217;s Prayer recited<\/p>\n<p>the food and wine<\/p>\n<p>that school<\/p>\n<p>the ancient rites and wisdom<\/p>\n<p>it had all \u00a0been cast<\/p>\n<p>upon this Summer Solstice<\/p>\n<p>mirrored in the past<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>the many generations shared<\/p>\n<p>an inspirational interlude<\/p>\n<p>as all of us we clearly knew<\/p>\n<p>the energies around<\/p>\n<p>evolving and resolving<\/p>\n<p>a conduit of sound<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>of hearts and souls and matter<\/p>\n<p>a sincerity, a cause<\/p>\n<p>the candle and the incense<\/p>\n<p>and the generous applause<\/p>\n<p>moved by the occasion<\/p>\n<p>the light brightened our eyes<\/p>\n<p>our hearts warmed to the message<\/p>\n<p>which came as no surprise<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oxfordshire boasts a yellow stone that masons sculpt and build all the way to Roll Right&#8217;s where the standing stones concealed in trees and in a circle ragged stones now be lichen embellished obelisks clothed in mystery &nbsp;
