We are known \u00a0as man’s best friend<\/p>\n
that’s what I was led to feel<\/p>\n
but certainly from my experience<\/p>\n
I don’t believe its real<\/p>\n
so let me fill you in a bit<\/p>\n
on how this has made me<\/p>\n
feel about what I believe<\/p>\n
is true disloyalty<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I was a puppy years ago<\/p>\n
and was sold to a guy, he<\/p>\n
drove a truck<\/p>\n
and lived his life<\/p>\n
and I saw rapidly<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
he left me in his yard a lot<\/p>\n
chained up to a post<\/p>\n
it seems I was regarded as a guard dog<\/p>\n
and my host<\/p>\n
expected me to sit out there<\/p>\n
in all weathers\u00a0and be<\/span><\/p>\n his fucking guard dog<\/p>\n snarling at everyone<\/p>\n I did see<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n There was no cover for me<\/p>\n and the winter wind did bite<\/p>\n the water he left out for me<\/p>\n was iced up<\/p>\n at the height<\/p>\n of winter<\/p>\n that was every day<\/p>\n I couldn’t stand the pain<\/p>\n of being in that wind all day<\/p>\n and also in that rain<\/p>\n <\/p>\n now and then he would throw me, a lump of meat<\/p>\n and I<\/p>\n would gnaw at it for several days<\/p>\n but I could not rely<\/p>\n on him to feed me regularly<\/p>\n neglected \u00a0I became<\/p>\n mentally unstable<\/p>\n and I haven’t felt the same<\/p>\n since, I have to tell you<\/p>\n I escaped one day when he<\/p>\n undid the chain \u00a0I \u00a0just ran off<\/p>\n sick of his loyalty<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n that was when things all went wrong<\/p>\n forced out on the street<\/p>\n I realized the horrors there<\/p>\n its so hard to compete<\/p>\n with existing strays, the forest<\/p>\n is a place but also there<\/p>\n are dangers \u00a0that are really bad<\/p>\n and really its not fair<\/p>\n <\/p>\n having scant regard for a species<\/p>\n that lives alongside you<\/p>\n is tantamount to objectionable<\/p>\n but what can I dog do<\/p>\n indignity and humiliation<\/p>\n happens all the time<\/p>\n you feel unloved and put upon<\/p>\n and wonder if the climb<\/p>\n is really worth the effort<\/p>\n you, despise those who \u00a0try<\/p>\n and harm you and disarm you<\/p>\n and not care if you die<\/p>\n <\/p>\n and they do, they stoop and smile<\/p>\n and offer possibly a bone<\/p>\n then kick you in the ribs<\/p>\n and scream expletives at you<\/p>\n that’s when you know you are alone<\/p>\n you know they have no love for you<\/p>\n that’s when you up and go<\/p>\n the human tribe are seldom<\/p>\n honorable<\/p>\n and that much, you know<\/p>\n <\/p>\n a women once I came to know<\/p>\n adored me I could tell<\/p>\n she fed me though she hadn’t much herself<\/p>\n her life was hell<\/p>\n but she spent whatever she had<\/p>\n on buying food for me<\/p>\n and she showed me how she loved me<\/p>\n and just wanted to be<\/p>\n <\/p>\n helpful caring loving<\/p>\n stroking brushing me<\/p>\n that’s when I thought back to the trucker<\/p>\n guy and I could see<\/p>\n there are folk that are closer to our species<\/p>\n and they care<\/p>\n the majority though are laggards<\/p>\n and still so unaware<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n possibly agree to this<\/p>\n so what does a dog do<\/p>\n <\/p>\n neglected lost and suffering<\/p>\n the vagaries about<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" We are known \u00a0as man’s best friend that’s what I was led to feel but certainly from my experience I don’t believe its real so let me fill you in a bit on how this has made me feel about … Continue reading
