a big bull hit the dust<\/p>\n
a while ago<\/p>\n
an American called Thigpen<\/p>\n
shot him right between the eyes<\/p>\n
what an amazing trophy<\/p>\n
now on show<\/p>\n
an elephant as rare as any elephant<\/p>\n
with poachers killing elephants like mad<\/p>\n
and ivory so sought after in the far east<\/p>\n
for me a poet, it is rather sad<\/p>\n
why these men believe they have the where for all<\/p>\n
to take out wild game any time they feel<\/p>\n
for whatever high, to watch another die<\/p>\n
this is not a game it is for real<\/p>\n
its final that sweet soul will never walk again<\/p>\n
never fly through jungles in the dark<\/p>\n
never experience all the joys of morning light<\/p>\n
never meet his loved ones in the park<\/p>\n
its over with one shot a life is ended<\/p>\n
the man from Texas let us \u00a0all bow down<\/p>\n
lets experience the ingloriousness of his hunting<\/p>\n
and lift him up and let him wear his crown<\/p>\n
I will not be rude to him as was requested<\/p>\n
I will not honour such a man no way<\/p>\n
I will not use expletives I will not even think about him<\/p>\n
I beg that karma meets him soon half way<\/p>\n
for killers of all wild life are an anathema<\/p>\n
there is no need, to be, so final they<\/p>\n
could be photographed and shared with all and sundry<\/p>\n
and left to walk with the freedom of each day<\/p>\n
