I am one of those little chicks<\/p>\n
all fluffy and yellow that’s me<\/p>\n
I kind of chirp a bit its true<\/p>\n
for just born I’m so \u00a0happy<\/p>\n
the problem is a that I’m a boy<\/p>\n
and boys do not lay eggs<\/p>\n
I have pretty feathers<\/p>\n
and I have 2 legs<\/p>\n
a heart some lungs<\/p>\n
a stomach<\/p>\n
yes a bit like you<\/p>\n
but when you are a chicken<\/p>\n
there’s nothing you can do<\/p>\n
with a boy<\/p>\n
he’s got to enter the conveyor<\/p>\n
of the damned<\/p>\n
and end up in meat derivatives<\/p>\n
the big can where I’m found<\/p>\n
consigned, to the pet food trade<\/p>\n
yea feathers and all<\/p>\n
ground up in a slurry<\/p>\n
into which I fall<\/p>\n
they need me for an advert<\/p>\n
for Easter<\/p>\n
yea tweet tweet<\/p>\n
Cadbury’s selling Easter Eggs<\/p>\n
I sit here on a seat<\/p>\n
with chocolate eggs all around me<\/p>\n
with blossoms it is Spring<\/p>\n
but sooner rather than late<\/p>\n
to the slurry they will bring<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
billions of us little souls<\/p>\n
we just have to die<\/p>\n
Easter will not save us<\/p>\n
no one hears us cry<\/p>\n
noone cares a jolt for chicks<\/p>\n
nobody at all<\/p>\n
not even children worry<\/p>\n
when we make the fall<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
then there’s bunny rabbits<\/p>\n
fluffy with big ears<\/p>\n
if only within our \u00a0great big eyes<\/p>\n
we could make real tears<\/p>\n
we haven’t got the tear ducts<\/p>\n
but when we feel the pain<\/p>\n
we cannot cry our hearts out<\/p>\n
and tears don’t fall like rain<\/p>\n
so often we are featured on Easter<\/p>\n
cards for you<\/p>\n
but most sit in laboratories<\/p>\n
the draize tests very few<\/p>\n
ever get to see the end of any day<\/p>\n
for we<\/p>\n
are blinded by the substances<\/p>\n
that they squirt on us<\/p>\n
see<\/p>\n
not us of course they blind us<\/p>\n
with their chemicals each day<\/p>\n
if we could cry an ocean<\/p>\n
then it would wash away<\/p>\n
but we can never cry alas<\/p>\n
how ever sore our eyes<\/p>\n
and so we suffer terribly<\/p>\n
from the vivisection guys<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Easter means that supermarkets<\/p>\n
get a chance to sell<\/p>\n
Turkeys, Capons Guinea Fowl<\/p>\n
they do experience Hell<\/p>\n
killed before their time is up<\/p>\n
slaughtered tragically<\/p>\n
so human beings can fill their guts<\/p>\n
with the spoils including me<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Have a happy Easter<\/p>\n
remember the calves who die<\/p>\n
remember the rabbits \u00a0their experience<\/p>\n
and ask your parents why<\/p>\n
remember the chicks the little chicks<\/p>\n
ground up for the cat<\/p>\n
remember its Easter<\/p>\n
