When I got to my Hotel<\/p>\n
it was early<\/p>\n
Quantas had worked wonders<\/p>\n
on the flight<\/p>\n
A special vegan breakfast<\/p>\n
Thanks to Lonnie<\/p>\n
But getting into Cairns<\/p>\n
Just wasn’t right.<\/p>\n
The shuttle bus was waiting<\/p>\n
at the airport<\/p>\n
I shuffled on and sat there<\/p>\n
on the floor<\/p>\n
The driver said I was the only pick up<\/p>\n
and took me to my hotel, I was sure<\/p>\n
It looked good on the Esplanade, a lovely place<\/p>\n
a sweet reception<\/p>\n
sumptious to a tee<\/p>\n
But booking in they said I was too early<\/p>\n
Right now its not the place<\/p>\n
unfortunately<\/p>\n
They then confused me with a man<\/p>\n
Doug Taylor<\/p>\n
They booked me in a room with a big bath<\/p>\n
That would just have been a bit disastrous<\/p>\n
I told them that with a little too<\/p>\n
much wrath<\/p>\n
The manager came out and told me firmly<\/p>\n
I was too early so go and return<\/p>\n
I was hot and bothered<\/p>\n
For it was hot outside<\/p>\n
I went to see the Aboriginal gallery<\/p>\n
Huge it was with myriads of things<\/p>\n
But I just could not sit down<\/p>\n
and so I left<\/p>\n
and walked back slowly praying for some wings<\/p>\n
I found a cafe<\/p>\n
entrance in the Hotel<\/p>\n
The Wink Cafe and fell into a chair<\/p>\n
Barry from the Isle of Man then served me<\/p>\n
With a tired salad<\/p>\n
which just wasn’t fair<\/p>\n
Chris the manager then came and told me<\/p>\n
My room was ready and I went<\/p>\n
up to<\/p>\n
The room it was designer chairs<\/p>\n
impractical for me<\/p>\n
Marshmallow everywhere<\/p>\n
that I could see<\/p>\n
I showered and went off to the<\/p>\n
Lily Pad Cafe,<\/p>\n
In Grafton Street<\/p>\n
a taxi ride away<\/p>\n
Had a splendid salad and a lovely glass of smoothie<\/p>\n
and chinwagged with the owner half the day<\/p>\n
Later I received a call from Kuranda<\/p>\n
The coach would come tomoroow I hour late<\/p>\n
First I would go to Tjapukai<\/p>\n
Then skyrail and the Kuranda train<\/p>\n
I went to sleep that night<\/p>\n
just feeling great<\/p>\n
