a long long time to be<\/p>\n
left in utter loneliness<\/p>\n
oh! if I could \u00a0just be free<\/p>\n
instead they leave me shackled<\/p>\n
my legs so sore with woe<\/p>\n
with so much torment \u00a0and so much pain<\/p>\n
and just no where to go<\/p>\n

I feel that no one loves me<\/p>\n
no one cares a hoot<\/p>\n
left to my devices<\/p>\n
I feel I am taking root<\/p>\n

an elephant wants to walk for miles<\/p>\n
olong a grassy track<\/p>\n
not lie here weeping feeling<\/p>\n
nothing, just lying on my back<\/p>\n

knowing I’ve been beaten kicked<\/p>\n
and sworn at, I<\/p>\n
am an elephant for goodness sake<\/p>\n
no respect but why<\/p>\n
I am a regal \u00a0elephant<\/p>\n
a giant let me say<\/p>\n
but they treat me very badly<\/p>\n
almost every day<\/p>\n

its true I have endurance<\/p>\n
the discomfort though I feel<\/p>\n
the anguish in my being<\/p>\n
tribulations steal<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
every hour of pleasure<\/p>\n
I ever thought I had<\/p>\n
replacing it with mournfulness<\/p>\n
oh I am so very sad<\/p>\n

I’d give anything to get these shackles<\/p>\n
off me<\/p>\n
and be able just to wander on my own<\/p>\n
scratch my back on a tree<\/p>\n
drink water that is free<\/p>\n
and amble here and there<\/p>\n
all on my own<\/p>\n

then I wouldn’t have to be resentful
\nI could please myself as to what to do<\/p>\n
but shackled by the back legs<\/p>\n
for hours on bloody end<\/p>\n
it really fracking takes it out of you<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
the pleasure just to put my trunk<\/p>\n
into a big tree flower<\/p>\n
and smell all of its perfume<\/p>\n
or \u00a0the marula that does shower<\/p>\n
down on me from a great height<\/p>\n
intoxication can<\/p>\n
do things to an elephant<\/p>\n
like it does to man<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I can escape to wonderland<\/p>\n
to a place where I can be<\/p>\n
with other elephants romping in the tall grass<\/p>\n
by the sea<\/p>\n
underneath a golden moon<\/p>\n
beside the mountains high<\/p>\n
thats what marula does for me<\/p>\n
makes me bloody high<\/p>\n

laying here unable to lift my head to see<\/span><\/p>\n I can hear the scamperings<\/p>\n the rats and mice they be<\/p>\n playing in the tall grass<\/p>\n have a fine time<\/p>\n and here’s me big as a bloody house<\/p>\n if only I could climb<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n I am big I was strong I could, knock down a fence<\/p>\n but somehow they have ruined me<\/p>\n and I am feeling tense<\/p>\n lamenting on my life<\/p>\n its been a torture everyday<\/p>\n those bull hooks that they used on me<\/p>\n really began to play<\/p>\n into my emotion I didn’t want to be<\/p>\n bruised and torn to pieces by those whips they<\/p>\n used on me<\/p>\n in the heat they quickly \u00a0fester<\/p>\n rapidly become<\/p>\n sore and so uncomfortable<\/p>\n and rapidly then numb<\/p>\n <\/p>\n an elephant like me<\/p>\n has had a bad time and I know<\/p>\n 14 years of squalor<\/p>\n really its been a bad show<\/p>\n <\/p>\n shackeled by this poultry shed<\/p>\n its smelly and they too<\/p>\n neglect to give me water<\/p>\n and I really need to do<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n so much of course but actually<\/p>\n my mentality is \u00a0shot<\/p>\n away I am resigned I think<\/p>\n to knowing that I am not<\/p>\n ever to get my freedom<\/p>\n <\/p>\n until I close my eyes<\/p>\n possibly for the last time<\/p>\n when sunder sadly dies<\/p>\n for no one seems to be able<\/p>\n to get me free and I<\/p>\n realise that fate has dealt the cards<\/p>\n which now is why<\/p>\n I am resigned to giving up<\/p>\n the wilds I will never see<\/p>\n an elephant is an elephant<\/p>\n but it makes no odds to me<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 14 years, for 14 years a long long time to be left in utter loneliness oh! if I could \u00a0just be free instead they leave me shackled my legs so sore with woe with so much torment \u00a0and so much … Continue reading
