Australia<\/p>\n
A land of, splendid contrasts<\/p>\n
Of freedom, and a grandeur on a scale<\/p>\n
That human eyes and hearts<\/p>\n
find really daunting<\/p>\n
and tis here begins, my fascinating tale.<\/p>\n
Perth the great Swan River carves its<\/p>\n
corridor<\/p>\n
Alongside the white sky scrapers<\/p>\n
its blue<\/p>\n
softening the fabric, such meanderings<\/p>\n
Strike its core repose in front of you<\/p>\n
The people clearly resonate around it<\/p>\n
They walk, they jog, they barbecue<\/p>\n
They rest<\/p>\n
Under a shady friendly tree<\/p>\n
Where the cockatoo may sometimes be<\/p>\n
Lycra covered joggers take their rest<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The sun smiles on the city,<\/p>\n
this March clearly<\/p>\n
Took its pot shot at the records and<\/p>\n
glaring heat can burn those<\/p>\n
unaware of it<\/p>\n
a factor tourists have to understand<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Eucalyptus rules the<\/p>\n
roost majestically<\/p>\n
Its massive trunks of cream and mottled brown<\/p>\n
Its many arms spread out to offer sanctity<\/p>\n
To sheltering souls<\/p>\n
who otherwise could drown<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Instead within the shelter that is offerred<\/p>\n
a warm embrace assurred for all who dare<\/p>\n
To come out in the noon day sun<\/p>\n
and pound the towpath one by one<\/p>\n
And offer help to everybody there.<\/p>\n
