We arrived at the shelter<\/p>\n
its \u00a0was bitterly cold<\/p>\n
barks and yelps cut through<\/p>\n
the night<\/p>\n
I just rolled<\/p>\n
up on the floor<\/p>\n
in some paper and straw<\/p>\n
dreaming that someone<\/p>\n
would fetch me for sure<\/p>\n

I will we be saved<\/span><\/p>\n I am sure I will be<\/p>\n but I know it looks bad for us all<\/p>\n Yes and me<\/p>\n <\/p>\n who wants to die<\/p>\n not me anyway<\/p>\n there s \u00a0a \u00a0big German Shepherd<\/p>\n and a Borzoi \u00a0they lay<\/p>\n close together<\/p>\n quite big dogs<\/p>\n with long leashes on<\/p>\n I’m a jack Russell cross<\/p>\n and my owner he’s gone<\/p>\n <\/p>\n he just put my lead on<\/p>\n as if we were going out<\/p>\n to the park or the river<\/p>\n I wasn’t in doubt<\/p>\n we were going to play<\/p>\n but he drove over here<\/p>\n and he left me<\/p>\n alone<\/p>\n to experience fear<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Already I miss my bed<\/p>\n right by his fire<\/p>\n the cage I am in<\/p>\n its cold and its dire<\/p>\n the water its dirty<\/p>\n I’m not used to this<\/p>\n its not what I was promised<\/p>\n this is not bliss<\/p>\n <\/p>\n so now we are waiting<\/span><\/p>\n tethered and still<\/span><\/p>\n watching the man <\/span><\/p>\n with his needle he’ll kill<\/span><\/p>\n one after the other<\/span><\/p>\n we know that soon we<\/span><\/p>\n will be under the rainbow bridge<\/p>\n yes hopefully<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The man he is awful<\/p>\n he’s hard hearted joe<\/p>\n he stabs us and stabs us<\/p>\n our hearts full of woe<\/p>\n bleeding we’re bleeding<\/p>\n in just so much pain<\/p>\n its not how we wanted it<\/p>\n it hurts our brain<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I think that to be<\/p>\n on one’s own at the end<\/p>\n to die in the cold<\/p>\n out of sight of a friend<\/p>\n with a drug in your paw<\/p>\n and a tear in your eye<\/p>\n and a cold floor<\/p>\n to fall on when you do die<\/p>\n <\/p>\n its sad way to go<\/p>\n to be left all alone<\/p>\n with a tear in your eye<\/p>\n just to whimper and moan<\/p>\n as you feel all that toxin<\/p>\n reach down to your soul<\/p>\n and the pain in your heart<\/p>\n as you lose all control<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" We arrived at the shelter its \u00a0was bitterly cold barks and yelps cut through the night I just rolled up on the floor in some paper and straw dreaming that someone would fetch me for sure I will we … Continue reading
