A Christmas hat<\/p>\n
a park bench<\/p>\n
hunched over with the cold<\/p>\n
the frost plays havoc with one’s feet<\/p>\n
no matter now how old<\/p>\n
the clothes when wet are uncomfortable<\/p>\n
they get frozen on you quick<\/p>\n
and with no one around to comfort you<\/p>\n
its not long before you are sick<\/p>\n
what you miss is a friendly voice<\/p>\n
and maybe a loving smile<\/p>\n
and a chair beside a roaring fire<\/p>\n
if only for a while<\/p>\n
perhaps the smell of chestnuts<\/p>\n
bringing back those days<\/p>\n
when you had a home<\/p>\n
and a family too<\/p>\n
now on your mind that plays<\/p>\n
the Christmas Tree<\/p>\n
decked out and looking<\/p>\n
beautiful and joy<\/p>\n
emanating around the room<\/p>\n
when you were just a boy<\/p>\n
now your parents have passed away<\/p>\n
and you are all alone<\/p>\n
the bank has thrown you on the scrap heap<\/p>\n
you work your fingers to the bone<\/p>\n
but they were a bunch of bastards<\/p>\n
clearly they had no soul<\/p>\n
they sold you the wrong insurance<\/p>\n
and the flat you had they stole<\/p>\n
and so its Christmas Day and you<\/p>\n
having nothing left but pain<\/p>\n
no one seems to love a man<\/p>\n
who sleeps rough in the rain<\/p>\n
