\nclearly in great fear
\nthe ice and snow it enveloped them
\nthe wind chill cut them down
\nloaded with long icicles
\njust outside of the town
\nvillagers have rescued them
\nfrom what was an ordeal
\nthe poor wee strays had all but lost
\nLets imagine how they feel
\nfrozen to the marrow
\nbut huddled together tight
\nand this is believed to have saved them
\nas they stood there through the night
\ntheir breath their body heat appears
\nto have saved them though it came
\nclose to be curtains
