We don’t know where he came from
\nwe just know he was there
\nas threadbare as a teddy
\nbut remarkably aware
\non top of the landfill
\na great island of junk
\nhe was lying very still
\nclearly he had sunk
\nhimself in all the clutter
\nand seemingly believed
\nthis was going to be his home
\nwhether he was aggrieved
\nabout it or was happy
\nhe didn’t seem to mind
\npeople threw this onto him
\nand around him he did find
\nmange was eating him away
\nparasites too spent
\na lot of time upon him
\nhis body he had lent
\nout to any parasite
\nwho wanted to come by
\nand he was clearly host to all
\nand sundry which is why
\nhe really felt uncomfortable
\nbut made the best of it
\nhopeful someone might find him
\nthat’s why he did sit
\natop the pile but merged
\ninto the background seemingly
\nfeeling a bit sorry for himself
\nas all could see<\/p>\n
we came for him the other day
\nspoke to him and said
\nwill you come along with us
\nsome biscuits we then fed
\nslipped a tie strap over him and urged
\nhim to come along
\nhe got up and he sat down
\nyou see he wasn’t strong
\nbut we managed to convince him
\nwe were helping him and he
\ncame along got in the car
\nand laid down
\nimmediately
\nhe was in a sorry state
\nsuffering so much
\nhis legs and ears were
\nbitten
\nand tender to the touch
\nwe took him to the veterinary
\nhis condition was as such
\neven the girls who washed him
\nhad tears in their eye
\ndrying him he lost most of his fur
\nwhich made us cry
\nhis legs his ears parts of his body
\nafter a he was introduced to Frankie
\nanother soul
\nwho was found stuck down a drainpipe
\nand who had lost control
\nthe two of them were happy
\ntogether chums at last
\nMiley went from shut down
\nto moving about fast
\nboth of them are happy
\nto be alive and well
\nboth were saved from death me thinks
\nthey had found man made hell
\nbut both are now for adoption and one hopes
\na forever place
\nwill be found soon for them
\nwhich will be a wonderful new
\nspace
\na yard perhaps to run in
\na basket near the fire
\nperhaps close to a window
