Pete Singer tells us
\nhow he feels man’s progress might
\nbe seen
\nhe says with the end of slavery
\nwhich I agree was most obscene
\nbut sadly its not over
\nthe African’s its true
\nhave got a measure of freedom
\nbut slavery burn’s through
\nThe chocolate trade
\nand the sugar trade
\nsees children, slaves for they
\nunpaid and many stolen from their families
\nworking very long hours everyday
\nbasically for the corporates
\nwho profit from it all
\nfor the public are either unaware
\nor care not, as a rule<\/p>\n
Take women all around the world
\nslaves many still are
\nthey work
\nthey care
\nfor little cash reward
\nwho is aware?
\nof what so many women do
\nthe men,
\nthe governments
\nthey don’t care
\nwe are treating human beings
\nstill with moments of despair<\/p>\n
of course the blessed animals
\nare in my eyes, for I
\nwrite about them every day
\nwhy so many have to die
\nall treated very badly
\nagain its the corporate thing
\nprofit
\nmargins
\nfigures
\nand people on a string<\/p>\n
many families homeless
\nthe corporates again
\nfractional banking
\nbankster’s
\nthe gangsters
\nin the frame<\/p>\n
the animals are suffering
\nthe women are suffering too
\nI want this world to realise
\njust what the corporates do
\nmarginalise so many
\nthe indigenous who were
\nthe guardians of the environment
\nwhich few now will concur<\/p>\n
but they are badly treated
\nagain such poor respect
\nfor a proud and honourable people
\nno Pete I reject
\nthe idea that the people
\nare not slaves to the cause
\nwe need to think how badly off
\nwe are
\nand sadly pause<\/p>\n
to increase the awareness
\nfor all subjugated souls
\nthe people who I have mentioned
\nand the animal earthling roles
\nall need looking after
\nthe measure of a race
\nis how they treat the animals and each other
\nand this grace
\nneeds to be remembered
\nvalue is the thing
\nevery earthling on this planet
\nhas a reason now to bring<\/p>\n
and so we must go forward
\nrealizing their worth
\nis what we have to take on board
\nto continue on this earth
\neveryone has value
\nevery earthling too
\nwe must not waste
\nwe must re use
\nthis is what we do
\nwe must conserve
\nwe must respect
\nand love each other
\nwe
\nfor each of us has one life here
