The sadism that seems to rise out of the ashes
\nwhere
\nin Greece the daily bulletins
\ncome over with despair
\nfor anyone who reads them
\nthe animals appear
\nto be at risk from all and sundry
\nand apparently that’s clear <\/p>\n
since the financial crisis
\nmuch appears to me
\nto have gone wrong
\nit seems compassion
\nhas diminished rapidly
\nthose cats and dogs
\nare suffering
\nout there on the street
\nas morons appear surfacing
\nand are anything but discreet<\/p>\n
all sorts of savage incidences
\nhappening every day
\nwith so many gory outcomes
\nfor some reason they pay
\na high price just for being there
\nthey suffer pain and woe
\nand torture, its despicable
\nas many of us know<\/p>\n
but why would all this happen
\ndo some begrudge them life
\nor do they detest their freedom
\nor are they, in their own strife
\nare they taking it out on animals
\nwhy would it happen so
\nare people degenerating?
\nyou know I’d like to know<\/p>\n
is this what happens to some folk
\nwhen they lose their rights to be
\ndo they go out and look for victims
\nis this now what we see
\nor are there just more sadists
\nin Greece alas today
\nwho want to take it out on animals
\nwho want to make them pay<\/p>\n
if this is the case, then its frightening
\nthat the human being can
\nrapidly lose their humane side
\nI mean now does this scan
\ndo we so degenerate and if we do
\noh dear
\nclearly the streets around about
\nare breeding so much fear<\/p>\n
into the hearts of the animal strays
\nfor there is not much hope and they
\nwill be picked up by someone and throttled so to say
\ntoday we heard of a white cat
\nwho someone found and she
\nhad her neck bound up in quite thick wire
\nand was in agony<\/p>\n
it had cut into her throat
\nand become infected and thus quite bad
\nthe person who had found the cat
\nclearly was very sad
\nto see her feeling so much pain
\nand tried hard to be kind
\nand give the cat some confidence
\nbut clearly she’d lost her mind<\/p>\n
finally she was rescued and came of her own accord
\nwas fed and taken to a vet
\na most timely reward
\nbut really it is awful
\nthat we as humans do
\ndescend into the darkness
