A young lad stands and poses
\nan elephant lies dead
\ngoodness knows what’s going on
\ninside that young kid’s head
\nclearly he didn’t get there
\non his own, we know
\nHis father must have gone with him
\nprobably to show
\nhim really how its done
\nhow you shoot a soul like this
\nget a thrill from murdering
\nand well making it spill
\nits blood into the hot earth
\na trophy hunting creep
\nwho gets his son to do it too
\nand what he sows
\nhis son will reap<\/p>\n
the lad is far too young
\nto realise what he has done
\nhe pulled a trigger of course he did
\nit was cool he was having fun
\nwhat’s enjoyable about killing
\nwhat moral reason for
\ncutting down a majestic beast
\ngetting to its core<\/p>\n
with parents like this
\none wonders
\nwhat chance this lad has got
\na psychopathic father
\nwho may have already shot
\nanother creature in its prime
\npaid the mercenary to
\nline up a wild one to be killed
\nfor that is what they do<\/p>\n
sacrifice a life so
\nsomeone can high five like hell
\ncan put their thumbs up and be seen
\nas a monster out of hell
\nhis knowledge of the elephants
\nis probably next to nil
\nhe lacks all understanding
\nwhich he probably always will<\/p>\n
I fail to see the sense
\nof letting children own a gun
\nand letting them kill an animal
\nbasically for fun
\nand telling them it a great day
\nwhen in point of fact of course
\nits a tragedy for the animals
