More women hunting
\nfor food for the table
\nthe reason behind this
\nto prove they are able
\nto kill for their supper
\nfresh meat is the thing
\nit saves on the food bills
\nand this has to bring<\/p>\n
an intimacy to the food
\nthat they serve
\nto kill it, to skin it
\nto gut it, the nerve
\nis raised for the hunter
\nthe women, for she
\nchanges places with the man
\nand perhaps destiny<\/p>\n
deer blinds and tree stands
\nand rifles galore
\nwomen are out there
\nin fact more and more
\nand where are the blokes then?
\nwhat do they do
\nlook after the toddlers
\nand clean out the loo?<\/p>\n
to my mind DRESSED up
\nin the camouflage gear
\nis not very female
\nto me its unclear
\nthe killing of animals
\njust shouldn’t be
\nthe dominion of women
\nI just cannot see<\/p>\n
the reason behind this
\ncompassion had roots
\nin the female the mother
\nif she now shoots
\nand kills the society
\nis at a low
\nto me its all over
\nif such things should grow<\/p>\n
let’s go back to the first people
\nwomen were great
\nthey worked like the clappers
\none could not berate
\nthem for all they did around
\ncamp and beyond
\ngrubbing up trees and sowing

existed with nature though

\nthey were honouring life

\nmimicking men

be mindful of what you are doing

\nyour graceful resilience
\nbound up in the way
\nyou look after the children

\nresourceful and magic
\nalways on call
\nbut never out side in the field
\nwith your gun
\nor out in the forest with
\nsomething you’ve hung<\/p>\n
aggression of this sort
\nwas never the choice
\nyou are after all more advanced
\nand your voice
\nto hear in America
\nmore of you are
\nout in the wild
\nreally quite far<\/p>\n
shooting wild ducks
\nand killing wild deer
\nand skinning and gutting
\nwithout any fear
\nsome of you fearful
\nof commercial meats
\nof the GM and chemical
\ncorporate cheats<\/p>\n
that are filling your baskets
\nand making you ill
\nand usurping your income
\nby raising each bill
\nand this is why you
\nare now decked out in gear
\nall this investment
\nyou’ve written off here<\/p>\n
for this is now long term
\na hunter you are
\nin the backwoods
\nof course you decide your the star<\/p>\n
its a sad day for women
\na sad day for all
\nwith the trillions of farm animals
\nwho do call
\nattention to cruelty
\nyou choose the path
\nto kill off wild creatures
\nand let them feel the wrath<\/p>\n
not of the men but the women now too
\nwho take on the expression
\nand kill why they do
\nwhy take the negative

\ncreation the catalyst

the bringer of life
\nis now a killer too
\nyou kill someone else’s child
\nthat must slay you
\nit must for you know
\nwhat it is to bring life

how can you do this
\nwhy have you slipped
\ndown in the abyss
\nhow have you tripped
\nwhy follow men into dark caves alone
\nassassins why do this

with your thoughts
\nI would scream if someone asked me
\nto kill any earthling

\nto end a dear life
\nbecause I want to eat
\nfor me it will never

the victim for that’s what they are
\nevery time
\nwomen your chance came
