When we wake up in the morning
\nand the sky is that rich blue
\nwhen birds are singing up above
\nand insects buzzing too
\nwhen trees are clothed in myriad leaves
\nwhen buds are bursting out
\nwhen plants are struggling to see us
\nthat’s what life’s about<\/p>\n
a robin with its red breast
\nand inquisitive little heart
\nsits upon a fence and watches
\nand he just might dart
\nout to catch a wiggly
\nor a spot of corn maybe
\nand the rabbit in the hollows
\ndown by the aspen tree<\/p>\n
there is a richness about nature
\nan abundance always there
\nprovided that we honour her
\nand prove we are aware
\nthat’s if we now share everything
\nfor everything has its place
\nfrom the butterfly
\nto the predators
\nand the scampering ones
\nwho chase<\/p>\n
we must consider nature
\nfor she considers us
\nshe is our goddess mother
\nand, likes to discuss
\nthrough the seasons she produces
\nlife and death and life
\nthe perfect natural order
\nwith all the natural strife<\/p>\n
the bursting forth of green shoots
\nthe butterflies that play
\nthe flowers,and their myriad petals
\nthat pose a great display
\nthe scents that captivate us
\nattracting Wasp and Bee
\nand the fruits that bring our harvest
\nand deliver it for free<\/p>\n
this is life in all its splendour
\noften just outside our door
\nthe grass is full of creatures
\nsome we’ve never seen before
\nbut all have a place despite that
\nwhether predator or prey
\neach has a lifespan on this earth
\nthat we shouldn’t take away<\/p>\n
we must enjoy the splendour
\nwe must create the worth
\nwander through the forest
\nand marvel at the earth
\nfor its constant revival
\nthe changes that are made
\naccept it and enjoy it
\nfor in our arms its laid<\/p>\n
but if we attract assassins
\nwho come to slaughter we
\nwill see such vile destruction
\nand witness much that will be
\ntruly out of kilter as balance
\ntakes a hit
\nand all the friendly souls we knew
\nsomehow do not fit<\/p>\n
they are not there or too many
\nof one sort are about
\nwe have broken the magic bond
\nand now witness a rout
\nman may be intelligent but
\nthat’s only to a degree
\nhe cannot create a blade of grass
\nfrom nothing as we can see<\/p>\n
he can modify and cripple
\nhe can genetically control
\nwell sorry he can bugger up the system
\nand extol
\nsome semblance of creation
\nbut at the highest cost
\nwe are seeing this with Monsanto
\nwhere so much has been lost<\/p>\n
when we get up in the morning
\nand we throw open the door
\nand we hear the birds a singing
\nlike they never have before
\nits because we are developing our senses
\nand we know
\nwe feed into emotions
\nwe share that wondrous glow
\nlike Karen she’s an angel
\nshe’s my lovely friend and I
\nlove her really dearly
\nlike the wind and like the sky<\/p>\n
she is a saintly wonder
\nwith her fairies at her side
\nand her animals about her
\nthat look after her with pride
\nand claudia another soul
\na soul that I love so
\nwho teaches me so many things
\nthat I wanted to know
\nshe tempers me and heals me
\nand softens me and she
\nis perfect really perfect
\nand with her sometimes I be
\nand Yvonne and the rest of you
\nwho come to share my space
\nAngel,there are many
\nfrom all over the place<\/p>\n
this an ode for nature
\nand for the earthlings that abound
\nthose that come to see us
\nand those that are seldom found
\nall of them are part of the
\nplanet we call earth
\nand we must thank our lucky stars
