Instinctively the forest
\nis our true home
\nman un kind must have known this
\nbut to see
\nthe fresh designs created
\nin his CAFO’s
\ndemonstrates his blindness
\nactually
\nthe discord and the grossness
\nof his artlessness
\nits jarring to the spirit
\nand the mind
\nclumsy cramped unclassical conditions
\nrepellant, loathsome
\nall this underlined
\nthousands of them small cocoons
\nungainly
\nrows of them
\nto greet the troubled eye
\nunpicturesque I have to say forbidding
\na hideosity that does belie<\/p>\n
a hopelessness a comfortless creation
\na war of nerves played out
\nin cinemascope
\ngradually they are emptying
\neach vital row
\nand proving beyond doubt that they can cope
\nentering the factory the white tiles
\nstained with blood
\nexplosively we see the knives
\nor we hear that awful thud
\nof body from a height dropped
\nfast upon the slab
\nanother mechanical hand
\ncomes out and swiftly it does grab<\/p>\n
and off they go bits cut off of them
\nas they go along
\nthis automation
\nit isn’t seen as wrong
\nits effective its efficient
\nlife ends in this place
\nthe robots do their sculpting
\nand soon there is no trace
\nof all those lovely specimens
\nthat laid in that huge place
\nand listened to each other snort
\nand shared the shared disgrace<\/p>\n
man un kind designed it
\ncreated it the sheer
\ntorment it was evident
\nand the claustrophobic fear
\nit just gave me the willies
\nobserving it from high
\nupon the crusted gantry
\nwhere so many pigs would die<\/p>\n
and through into the holding pens
\na jungle of tight wire
\nheld the waiting animals
\naware and some on fire
\nhearing no doubt feeling
\nthat death was pretty near
\nthe smells the yells
\nwhere in their dwells
\nenormous bouts of fear<\/p>\n
I doubt that hell is half as bad
\nfor this abhorrent place
\nan immediate aversion
\nthe look now on each face
\nnauseous and clearly
\nfinding it all too much
\nclearly now down trodden
\nand seriously out of touch<\/p>\n
reality this isn’t
\nthe forest back from where
\ntheir instinct might have guided them
\nto this current despair
\ncocooned in violent cages
\ntheir closeness did appear
\nto give each one more real concern
